N O T E

Hey guys! Before you start reading, I want to mention a few things super quick.

This book is so very important to me. It is probably the most powerful books I have written (for me at least.)

Just as a quick heads up, this book contains self-hate and bullying, so be aware of that.

I wanted to start this book to start conversations. I want people to acknowledge that self-hate and bullying isn't solely happening to people who are a bit over "average". Everyone is different. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. This book is literally coming from my heart and soul. 

Self-hate and self-love are subjects that are so important to me that I seriously cannot describe in words the magnitude of how meaningful this is and how close to home it hits for me. 

I want to let you guys know that this is a safe space, you wanna talk? Go for it. You want to rant? We're listening. You have tea to spill about your peers? I have my mug ready. Haleigh Thorne: Medium brown hair, pale skin, light blue eyes, 5' 10", thin

Sam Bennett: Curly dark brown hair, light brown/hazel eyes, tan skin, 6' 4", fit

Brandy Wilson: Black hair, caramel skin, brown eyes, 5' 4"

D I S C R I P T I O N

"I'm worried about you. Did you eat at all over the summer?" She looked concerned about me.

All of the comments and the snickers came rushing back to me, making tears pool in the bottom of my eyes.

"Oh my God!" her hand flew to her chest, "you didn't! I'm so sorry, maybe you should see someone about that," she gasped, her eyes widening as if she had an idea, "there are eating disorder pamphlets in the nurse's office, I can go get one for you."

I noticed a crowd begin to watch Chanel throw insults at me, pulling out their phones to film as they drink it up eagerly.

"Watch it, Chanel," a deep, husky voice came from behind me.

Haleigh Thorne is counting down the days until her and her best friend graduate high school. It's only 356 more school days and they are free to live their lives as they please. Only, of course, high school is never quite as simple as that. Haleigh has body insecurities that have laced themselves around her mind, heart, and soul, making her nearly incapable of loving anything or anyone outside of her family. Other than one exception.

Haleigh is a romance writer. Spending almost every spear second she has writing, after hanging out with friends, "dog-sitting" for the popular jock, and going on cute dates with the cute new next-door neighbor.

Sam Bennett, AKA the popular jock. Or so we thought. Sam has his own demons he is hiding from the rest of the student body, which honestly isn't all that easy. Sam is a pretty easy going guy, and real easy on the eyes. Not to mention that he has the personality of an actual angel.

And lastly, the new neighbor that just moved in over the summer, Zane Bradford. We all thought his intentions were sweet and innocent at first, only when Haleigh sees Zane talking to one of his friends about her.

In this book of tears to fill a lifetime, Haleigh discovers love, heartbreak, and drama that she was hoping to stay away from in Beauty is a Disease.
