5:40 am
Donghyuck ran from the bus stop across the street, into the warm coffee shop that yet hadn't opened. The rain pounded on the large windows, setting the mood as cozy. The coffee shop was dark and empty but Donghyuck saw light coming from the staff room and walked over as he knew who was in there.
He opened the door and smiled brightly when he saw his friend putting on his work uniform, wearing earphones with music so loud that Donghyuck could hear the Britney song play. He snuck up on him quietly and laid his hands on the others shoulders, causing him to jump in shock and letting out a light scream. He removed his earphones and looked at Donghyuck, still wondering how long he had been here.
"Hyuck! What the fuck, how long have you been here?" He asked and hugged his friend before Donghyuck began putting on his own uniform.
When Donghyuck was done putting on his brown apron he turned to his friend. "Doesn't matter. What matter is that we're suppose to open the shop in about fifthteen minutes." The co-worker's eyes shot up as he heard about the time. They hadn't even put the chairs down off of the tables. Donghyuck laughed because of his friend's face realizing that they were short in time. He ran out off the staff room, leaving a laughing Donghyuck behind. The laughing boy saw that his friend had forgotten something and quickly went after him.
He walked out towards the counter, calling out his friend who were running around the shop putting down all the chairs so you were actually able to sit on them. When he heard Donghyuck call for him, he walked up to the counter. "Don't you see I'm busy?" he said out of breath. Donghyuck just handed him the nametag with Jaemin on it.
"You can keep doing the cardio now." Donghyuck told him and Jaemin chuckled a little before starting to run around the shop, preparing for opening.
Donghyuck started cleaning the machines and counter, waiting for the clock to turn 6am. The two boys took turn in doing the preparation chores. On Mondays Donghyuck takes care of behind the counter as Jaemin does the other part of the shop, such as pulling down the chairs, cleaning the tables and turning the closed sign to open.
A ringing sound was heard from under the cash desk. Donghyuck moved his eyes to see the alarm clock being 6am exact and stood up from getting cups, "it's time!" he yelled and his friend rushed over to switch the sign to open.
9.47 am
"Iced Americano" Donghyuck said out loud when he placed a cup on the service counter. A young girl came up to him and accepted the drink with a wide smile. Donghyuck went back to the cash desk to take more orders.
Jaemin whispered "she was cute" to Donghyuck as he walked past him to get some milk, when he walked back towards the latte machine his friend looked at him and chuckled "too bad she's a chick" before returning back to the customer.
"A Cappuccino right up" Donghyuck said to repeat the customer. "You can sit down while we'll make it for you, Sir" He continued and took the customer's payment. The man on the other side of the counter nodded and went to sit down by one of the cute wood tables. The boy sighed and went to the machine, starting to pour ingredients into a mixer and start the coffee making.
His dark brown haired buddy came up to him since he didn't have anything to do at the time. "Ten texted me saying he's coming over to the shop around four. So wanna come over to me after work?" He asked Donghyuck who were focused on doing the cappuccino. "Why so early though? Not that I'm complaining" Jaemin added.
Donghyuck smirked and looked at Jaemin, "he probably has some cute guy to impress that comes around at that time." They both laughed at Donghyuck's joke since it most likely was true. Ten, was their co-worker who takes the night shift. He was lowkey a hoe as he picks up guys during his shift, which is why he chose to work the night shift alone. Ten is their oldest hired here at the coffee shop. They never meet their boss so for Donghyuck and Jaemin, Ten is like their boss. He always keeps them updated and informed.
Jaemin nudged at Donghyuck almost causing him to lose the grip of the cup he was getting. "What?" The light haired boy asked. Jaemin just signaled Donghyuck to look at the entry, "Speaking of cute boys."
Donghyuck almost turned his head to quick, that he could've hurt himself. But when he saw who his friend signaled him to see, he forgot about it.
It was a dark haired guy. He was gorgeous, thought Donghyuck. He had fresh styled hair and was dressed really well. The guy had a bag with him, a computer bag. When he reached up to the counter and waited for service, Donghyuck moved his gaze to the empty cup.
Donghyuck was about to pour up the drink into the cup but Jaemin stopped him. "I got this, go help the cute boy." He winked and took the cup away from Donghyuck. The boy by the counter stood awkwardly waiting for someone to take his order, pouting and sighing. He was really cute. He was even cuter when Donghyuck went up to the desk and greeted him with a smile, and you could see his cheeks turning a slight shade of pink.
"What could I get you, Sir?" Donghyuck said, still smiling and getting ready to type in the order onto the computer.
The boy stood frozen for some seconds. Donghyuck raised his eyebrow, still with a smile plastered on his face, causing the boy to open his mouth "Oh- uhm I'll have- I'll have a caramel macchiato please" He stuttered.
"One Caramel Macchiato. Anything else?" Donghyuck asked and looked at the cute boy with a small smirk on his lips. The boy shook his head and handed Donghyuck the money.
He walked over to the machines once again and started doing the caramel macchiato. When he poured the stained milk into the coffee, he formed a heart. Not only because the guy who ordered the drink was cute, but they also had to make coffee art to attract customers. Donghyuck went back to the desk where the guy stood waiting.
"Caramel macchiato." He said, this time not so loud, only so the cute boy was able to hear it. He looked up from his phone and smiled when he saw the cup of coffee Donghyuck handed him.
"Thank you..." the boy smiled shyly looking down at baristas nametag "...Donghyuck."
He left Donghyuck smiling by the counter and sat down around a small table by the window, getting his computer from his bag and started writing on it.
Jaemin saw Donghyuck standing by himself and ran up to him. He had watched his friend talk to the boy from the other side of the shop while he was cleaning some tables. Now he wanted to hear all the juicy informations.
"So?" Jaemin wiggled his eyebrows, leaning against the counter. Donghyuck leaned against the fridge and smirked. "Tell me!" Jaemin whined since Donghyuck weren't telling him anything, just standing there smirking.
"He is really cute. He was so shy and stuttered and when I gave him his coffee he smiled so his dimples were shown!" Donghyuck whispered, not wanting anyone to hear.
"He got dimples?" Jaemin almost screamed but he managed to keep it to whispering.
The light haired boy only nodded with a big grin on his face. He looked at the cute boy who sat by himself and his computer, sipping on his caramel macchiato.
"What do you he does on the computer?" Jaemin asked when he saw what his friend was watching. Donghyuck shrug his shoulders, not really caring about what he was doing on the computer. He only kept looking at the boy's face. How his expressions can go from satisfied to disappointed in only a few seconds. Maybe he was interested in what the boy was doing and why he was so focused.
"Do you think he's watching porn?" Jaemin asked curiously, totally serious. Donghyuck just gasped and pushed his friend a little.
"Let's get back to work" Donghyuck suggested and stood up straight, walking over to the cash desk as he saw more customers arrive.
