As much as Steven liked taking care of the little ones. The things like, climbing on top of him, cleaning up after them, having no one listen to him, and have all his stuff destoryed. Was a lot less fun then it sounded, and to him, it didn't sound fun. He looked at Alex. She was reading to them. She always had some sorta way to make them sit still without raising her voice or hurting one. The kids liked him, that much was known. But what they didn't do is what ever he told them to. The only way he's able to get them to calm down without pain. Is to sit down on the story telling chair, as Alex had named it, and tell the kids about the times he had been in the woods durring night. Only thing was, Ellen hated it, each time he gave out a story. There would be at least 2 or 3 beds that had to have changed sheets, and alot of kids had nightmares. So he was forbid of doing it. He sighed, as Alex had taken out a book of the 3 little pigs. 'Why is it there are so many kid orphanes? They should be adopted already. It would make his life alittle bit easier, until Ellen finds a way to make him get a different punishment. Today was his 4th day. Alex wasn't talking to him. He didn't even know what he did. She finished the book. Steven was waiting until she sent the kids outside to play.

"Okay, now it's fun time!"

That meant they were going to something that was really exciting. Like watch T,V. Or make rice crispy treats, or go to the park. This time they were going to the park. He might be able to figure out why she was so mad at him now. She wouldn't scream or go off when she's mad. Alex would just give them cold shoulder. She was good at that. She never stayed mad at Steven for long, but when he was on this punishment. The faster he got her to be happy with him the better. They walked to the back of the orphanage. Steven was at the back of the line, Alex was in the front. They had always had to go in line. It help keeping the kids in order. They moved out to talk sometimes. Steven didn't mind that much. As long as everyone was there. When they reached the door it was as if the kids turned to a pack of hurngry dogs. Wishing that they could get passed the door to get the flock of sheep, and Alex was the one holding the key. They were jumpping and smiling, some even screamed. Alex opened smiled and opened the door. They all took out. Pushing and shoving. Going straight to the park. Climbing, jumpping and even digging. Alex had moved over to sit on a bench. Normally when he was here, Steven would take the other side. But instead he sat next to Alex. She didn't even look at him. But he knew that she was listening. He never liked talking for long amounts of time. But this might have been one of the times. They were preety well trained kids. So they didn't really have to watch them much. Only to tell them to share, not to throw the mulch, don't spit, and once every few months, Steven had to break apart a fight. Alex, had to make sure the two kids were turned into friends over it. Steven didn't know how she did it, She had alot of different ways. He had once came in, and he saw the two kids in a coner, holding hands, looking foward. He just shrugged at it. Ellen had just used a ruler for him. Everyone else learned from timeout. He didn't learn unless it was phyical, and sometime not even then. Alex had scan again, so did Steven, he didn't spot any sighs of trouble brewing. He could use this time.

"Hey Alex, can you at least tell me why your mad?"

"You know why"

"Not really that's why I asked you. The only reason, I could think of is that, is that you got mad because I had come back after dinner."

" That's not why."

" Is it because I hid the injury?"

That would be a first, he had small scracths before, he hid them she didn't care. But this was preety big. Still it didn't matter that much. When she did figure out, she had gave him a small hit. Then went on. Ellen was the only that had cared alot about it.. She shook her head.

"No, I wouldn't have minded it that much, if you had hid it. It's the fact that you didn't take good care of it. You made it worst, by hiding it, you know that!"
