The Unseen Event

It was an eve of a fab Friday, the beginning of the summer vacations. I was scrolling through my Atlas in search for a place to visit. Of course this time I would be going with my friend troop for an adventure trip because I had grown enough to be to far-off places alone with my friends.
This time I was the troop leader and was supposed to decide the place of visit ." Whoa!! It would be such a nice journey." I thought. As I turned the pages of the Atlas, somehow my eyes fell on Kohima , the capital of Nagaland.
Soon after that, my phone was in my hand and I was surfing the net for 'Attractions in Kohima'. The place was located in the beautiful Naga hills and the was breathtaking . Oh! I wish to reach there as soon as possible . So I phoned my friends and told them .
First was to Ashish , who had made me swear to tell him first where we were going.
"Hello, is it Ashish?"
"Yes . Tell me,tell me where are we going . Tell me,tell me!!"
"Alright, alright, I'm telling you . But first hold your horses!"
"Okay, okay , I have held my patience. Now, tell me where are we off to?"
"We are ready to take -off to Kohima, the beauty and capital of Nagaland. Let's explore the East!"
"Hooray! But, will others agree? I don't think Rene will be very pleased to hear it."
"You see, I am the troop leader . So, they will have to listen to me."
"As you wish . I just want to get out and enjoy no matter where we go. I am starting to pack. And when are we going ? "
" That I'll let you know. Mmmm.... most probably day after. Let's see what others say. Goodbye."
After satisfying Ashish, I phoned Ashton, who is very fond of adventures.She would be so glad to hear the news. And so I called .
"Hello, Ashton speaking? So I've decided upon Kohima.Are you ready?"
"First let me control myself. Now, what did you say? Kohima, Koh.., Kohima?"
"Oh dear! I knew you would be delighted ! Now when can you be prepared?"
"Day after."
"So you too opt for day after. Let me tell others."
After having two successful agreements, I called Tanishq. He was the tang of of our troop.
"Hi ,Tanishq ?"
"Yes, decided yet?"
"You think I'm that slow😑? Of course I have decided. It's Kohima where we are going. "
"Oh wow! I guess it's in the East. Nagaland right?"
"Yes. So when are you ready?"
"Day after. Or maybe tomorrow."
"It's day after, boy. This time please don't forget anything important ."
"Okay. Goodbye."
I had dealt with three of my troop fellows and still had to converse with rest two when Papa called .
"Yo Papa! What's up?"
"Awesome. Are you going to go with your friends?"
"Of course. Why do you ask?"
"Umm.. well.. I have planned to go to honeymoon with your mother. When are you supposed to return?"
"Well.. I don't know. Maybe within two weeks. "
"Splendid! We will then be further off to the beaches of Kanyakumari. Alright. See ya , sweetie!"
Oh! My parents are so fond of travelling; especially without me. This time I will go without them. Humph!
I had no time to waste. I immediately called Christy, she is a very gentle girl. She would never argue for going anywhere - whether she liked it or not.
"Hello, Christy, we have decided. It's Kohima. Will you accompany us?"
"Sure. No doubt. But where's the site situated?"
"In the East. When can you be all set?"
Perfectly by day after but lazily day after day after."
"No , day after. No laziness."
"Fine."
I don't want lazy scoundrels in my troop! One must be active and swift for an adventure. Then I had to call Rene. I called her at the end cause it is a big mistake to call her first. She has always some or the other problem with a thing. So I needed strength to tell her.
"Hi Rene. How are you doing?"
"All set. And you? I hope the place decided is up to the mark?"
"I'm fine. The place's a miracle. It's Kohima."
"Oh yeah, you think I'm going to risk myself in some mountains?"
"Sure. Adventures are risky but enjoyable. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy."
"Okay then. I'll be up by day after. See ya!"
Phew! She's one of a kind. Rene has got a cool attitude and speaks point to point. I'm a fan of her. She is also knowledgeable.
I had no time. I had to start packing and browse the net for the present temperature over there. And so I did . Suprisingly, the temperature was warm and there was no requirement of a sweater. I booked the tickets for a train to Kohima.
I would collect the money back from my friends upon our return. I packed my sunglasses, my headphone, my playing cards, tent, hat , trek shorts and t-shirt, pyjamas, denim, crop top, underpants, laptop, sleeping bag, hiking shoes, stick, selfie stick, soap bottle, power bank (fully charged ), dongle, et cetera,et cetera.
But unfortunately, Christy soon called up to tell that she was no longer coming.
I had expected that my friends would not carry much with them. No one would forget their phones and playing games. Oh! I am so excited.
Oh no! I forgot to pack the boofer for late night party purpose (😋♤♡◇♧).
