"C'est la vie"

Present Day

Okay.
Here I go.
Maybe just one more minute.
I got this.
No I don't.

"Come on scaredy pants. It's just a new school." my twin sister nudged me. I sighed and followed her footsteps into the new school. Right as she opened the doors, she frolicked right in, not caring that everyone was staring at us. I kept my head low, glancing around at the people. Why did my sister get all the enthusiasm? Also courageous, smart, funny, and all that good stuff. All I got was shy. It was also senior year.

Fun

I hate moving schools. Our mother was always away because she wants to be. Not for a job, just because she likes traveling and leaving her children home alone. I don't blame her. Dad was arrested when I was 13, because he came home drunk and started beating all of us. Thankfully Iris' friend was coming over and her friend's dad called the police. Too bad we never got to hang out. Mom moved us right after that, not really telling us why. Maybe it was the memories, because we made a lot of memories there.

We went to the office and grabbed our classes. I could work with this. Math, Art, Science, History, then lunch, Photography, English, and PE. My sister took it and said we had math, history, and English together.  Which I guess is good, I mean she I usually do everything alone and she becomes friends with everyone. I had a few friends, and it's not that I sit alone at lunch. I would rather be in New York with my two friends, then be here.

As we approached the class, I got slightly nervous. I was use to getting hate, even though my sister would usually try to prevent it from happening. It didn't always work though. I've been called names and beat up. People said I should be more like my sister, and less of a freak. She threw open the doors and everyone's head snapped towards us.

"Ah. You must be the Horton twins. Introduce yourselves. I'm Ms. Hays." the teacher I assume greeted us. We stood at the front where everyone could judge us. Like in a zoo, where everyone throws peanuts at you. Exept I'm allergic to peanuts. So I could possibly die.

My sister started of course, "Hello. I'm Iris, and I like warm hugs!"[A/N I had to. Sorry not sorry.] Laughter was heard throughout the classroom. After everyone quieted, she elbowed me in the ribs. It hurt I tell you.

"I'm Issac." I simply said. Iris shook her head at me and dragged me to our seats in the back.

- Skip to lunch bc lazy -

"Haha okay. Just give me a minute." Iris smiled at her posse. Fourth class and she already has a group froming arounder her. Admiring her like she was some goddess.

Wow, shocker.

I slowly walk to the cafeteria doors when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look to my left to see Iris sad smiling at me. "Hey."

"Hi." I respond, not knowing why she's talking to me. She should be sitting with her new friends, telling them stories, making them fall in love with her. I don't get it. We look almost exacly the same. I'm slightly taller, but other then that..there's nothing. Green eyes, brown hair, and we even have the same laugh. Also, we're both white, like we cannot tan. Not possible. Nada. Nope.

"You can sit with me if you'll like Izzy." ew, she used my nickname. It doesn't even make sense but okay. It's been my nickname since we were toddlers and she has never grown out of it. Iris tries to pull me to this table full of people, but I rip my hand from hers. She looks with this look and I just roll my eyes. She's about to say something, but I shake my head walking away. I walk down the hall way and find the stairs. I look around for teachers, but I don't see any. I quickly, but softly, run up the stairs all the way to the third story. There I find one last stair case to the roof. I open the door and find myself on top of the world.

"Hello." a voice says. I jump from the doorway and onto the floor. I hear a giggling and look up to see a girl.

She's beautiful.

Wearing a white shirt, but leather jacket on top. Ripped black jeans and bright pink converse. She has red hair, like it's dyed but not. It's like fire. She's pretty short, but only about inch below average. Her eyes, what color is it? It looks black, but I don't think anyone could have pure black eyes. I realize I've been staring and quickly snap out of it. Only to be blushing a light pink.

"Who are you?" I manage to get out. She lends me her hand, and I gladly accept it. Pulling me up, she looks at me. I squirm underneath her glare, because it feels like she's looking into my mind and soul

Smiling, she walks to the edge of the building and gets up on it. My eyes widen and I quickly go after her. She motions me to get up too, so I do. I'm about to ask her about her name again, but I see her about to walk off the ledge.

"What are you doing?" I ask nervously. She takes a hold on my hand and asks if I trust her. Weirdly enough...I do. I nod and she just smiles.

My heart melts.

"They call me Daisy." is what I hear her say before she jumps, pulling me with her.
