It was the next day
-
Last night mom said that we'd talk to Lydia and her mom. Here I'm thinking Mrs. Martin just had the same name as me that was common and was just a counselor at the school. Idiot. How do they keep a secret that long? Did Mrs. Martin, Lydia's mother know I was her nephew? So many questions. But for now, I guess I'll just be a normal teenager and go to school.

I walked in with my head high, textbooks in my left arm and my backpack on my right shoulder. "Hey, Adrian." Many students said as I walked down the long hallway. I took a left into my classroom down the hall. It was a new semester so I got new classes.
"Welcome to AP Biology." Mrs. Finch says. "Sorry I wasn't here for the first week, I was very ill." She added. "Liam Dunbar, surprised you're here."

"Why?" He asked in confusion.

"No reason." She responded.

There were a bunch of students I barely know. Liam Dunbar was one, this kid Nolan who went crazy and killed people or something, Mason Hewitt, Hayden Romeo, that crazy hot boy from the assembly where he caught on fire or maybe I'm just crazy. And of course my "friend" Ben.

"Ben, do you even know what this class is?" I asked as I sat next to him.

"Yeah, AP Bio." He gave a duh kind of look.

"Do you even know what AP stands for?"

"Advanced placement?" He said with a confused look.
I rolled my eyes and looked forward at Mrs. Finch.

"You guys know that this class will push you and challenge you. Feel free to drop now." She put the drop forms up front. Two kids went and took them and left the class and Mrs. Finch just rolled her eyes. "That's it? Okay, turn your textbooks to pages 11 and 12."

Two classes went by, humanities and AP economics. It was lunch now, so I went and sat outside trying to finish my homework while I ate.

"Heyo boyo." Ben jumped out of nowhere.

"You're a crackhead." I rolled my eyes.

"And you have quite an attitude today." He said with a smirk. "I saw you checking out that jock again in class." He extended the ass part (because he's an ass) and started poking me.

"Shut up will you," I said trying to concentrate on my homework. He just kept talking and talking about dumb things.

"Then he said 'if you're going to be on the lacrosse team then you gotta win the spot and I said-"

"Stop talking," I said cutting him off, snapping my head towards him and slamming my hand on my textbook.

"Ok, ok little boy nerd." He smirked again.

Twenty-two minutes pass and I got a lot done.

"Ok, why are Liam and his buddies staring at me?" I ask Ben. He looked up from his phone.

"Dunno." he looked back down.

I said whatever and started to put my stuff back in my bag until someone was standing right in front of me.

"Uh hi," he said, another one approached, Hayden I think.

"And what do they call you?" I said.

"Um, Corey?" He said.

"Is that a question?" I said giving a confused look.

"We just wanted to say how much you look like someone we know, who graduated and maybe you guys are" she paused "related, in any way." She said giving a nervous laugh for some reason.

"Ah, Lydia Martin?" I pressed my lips together.

"Yeah." They both said still laughing like we were a serial killer family or whatever.

"Yeah, she's my cousin. Why does that concern you?" I turned my body to them and saw that Liam was staring with a fist covering his mouth.

"Oh, we were just wondering," Hayden said, "she's a good friend of ours!" She gave a smile.

"Ah. Okay, cool. I got to get to class, nice meeting you." I got up, walked away and rolled my eyes while they weren't looking. Ben didn't see a thing, he was glued to his phone and he saw that I left he was stumbling to get up and ran after me.

It was finally the end of the school day and I was exhausted. My mother texted me and said she wanted all of us to meet up, Lydia, Mrs. Martin- or I guess Aunt Natalie, and my mom and I. Deaton also said he would come.
-
I got home 10 minutes later and everyone was here. I walked in and the two mothers were crying their eyes out and Lydia looked at me in annoyance.

"If you guys were going to keep a secret from me, you guys could have kept in touch you know," I said and Aunt Natalie gave me a hug.

"I'm sorry." She said and I smiled.

"We thought it would pass you because you're a male and I didn't know what I was thinking," my mother said. "Me too." Natalie agreed.
Lydia came up to me and pulled me away and let the moms reunite. Deaton came along.

"Did Liam's friends talk to you?" She asked while crossing her arms.

"Yeah. They seemed scared too. Why's that?" I asked.

"Because they saw what I can do and heard the story when I was in eichen." Her eyes widened, lips pushed out and she looked scared. Lydia turned to Deaton and confidently said, "we have to go to eichen."
