a/n: hello after literally forever !! i kept seeing all of your comments at the end of my last chapter asking for a part two, so i decided to upload this chapter :)

i've written and uploaded an epilogue before but it was SO BADLY WRITTEN (pls don't ask i still haven't forgiven myself for my lack of creativity) that i had to take it down, but after seeing so many people continue to request for an explanation, i chose to rewrite it!

it genuinely touched my heart to see so many people reading this - it was a late-night plot idea and i honestly thought i'd get nowhere with it so thank you to absolutely everyone!

sorry for the wait, but here you finally go

7 / epilogue.
third point of view

not even the girls squealing all around him were helping felix think straight.

an overwhelming surreal sensation was enveloping him, the same way déjà vu or vertigo would. nothing made sense to him—how could it be possible to recognise someone without remembering them?

his concert went poorly. the all-mighty seoul concert which had been talked about for months was gone, yet that appeared to be the least of his concerns.

"felix," the boy snaps out of his dilemma as a fan mutters, "i paid double the amount for this meet-and-greet just for you. are you okay?"

wearing a tight grin, he nods. "i'm so sorry. where we we?"

her face brightens as she reaches into her tote bag. "that's okay! i got you these cute pikachu ears—here, wear them—and also there's this plushie..."

the boy can't help but zone out again. i need her to explain what on earth is going on.

after holding some more hands and accepting gifts and signing papers, felix leaves the venue with a crowd of guards surrounding him. he looks around for his manager, who he spots a few rows behind him. he beckons him over.

"what's wrong?" his manager asks, and he pauses.

"remember that girl from earlier? at the lobby?"

"ah, the psycho?" he chuckles, and felix frowns.

"i don't think that's..." he starts, but shakes his head. "yeah, her."

he nods. "what about her? did she do something?"

"no..." felix furrows his eyebrows. "i think... i think i need to talk to her."

"what? why?" his manager questions, puzzled. "she could be dangerous."

"i... you wouldn't understand even if i try to explain myself," he lowers his voice, finding himself hesitating as he begins to second-guess himself. am i psycho for doing this?

yet no matter how absurd his situation feels, all he has to do to reassure himself is reminisce the jolt that shot through his chest when he first met hyerin's gaze at the lobby. he needed to see her to unlock the lingering memories that remained untouched in his mind and out of his conscience; the memories that only her sharp features, which he could envision so clearly, could bring forth.

"look, can you just find her for me?" he asked. "i want to talk to her."

"we don't even know her name—"

"lee hyerin," he interrupts. "age eighteen. grew up in gyeonggi-do. please find her."

his manager listens to him silently, more confused than astonished with felix's specific request, but nevertheless jogs back to his position after a few seconds with a skeptical nod.

"oh my... felix lee?"

the boy bows to the two adults the next morning. "hello, mr. and mrs. lee."

"come in," hyerin's mother obliges, and he steps into the house after taking off his shoes.

"i'm sorry for the short notice," he begins, "but i wanted to talk to your daughter, hyerin."

"do you... know her?" mr. lee asks hesitantly, glancing over at his wife.

"it's... a bit hard to explain," he admits. "i don't know her, but i recognise her. i just want to talk to her."

"oh..." mrs. lee exhales. "i'm sorry felix, but i don't think that'd be a good idea... she's not stable right now."

"i came here to see her," he mumbles. "i'm sorry, but i won't be more than five minutes."

he stands up and heads further into the house wordlessly, masking his surprise at how hyerin's parents don't try to stop him. "she's in the last room on the left," her mother instead calls out.

he nods gratefully as he approaches the door, knocking twice without hesitating.

"who is it?" hyerin calls out softly, and felix feels his chest churn at the sound of her voice. he recognises it, the same way he recognises his own mother's voice from a crowd of people, only he cannot put an identity to her familiarity.

"it's me," he replies lowly. silence follows his words as both teenagers fall into a state of oblivion, trying to collect their own thoughts and explain the logic behind their relationship.

felix does not know how much time passes before the door slowly opens. he widens his eyes and steps forward, leaning forward and meeting hyerin's dark orbs. she glances at him nervously, analyses him for a split second, then pulls him in. she shuts the door hurriedly behind her, pressing her back against it as she turns to stare at felix in bewilderment.

"you left," are her first words to him. she struggles to formulate her sentences. "you... how are you here? i could never touch you before."

"i had no choice," he explains, finding comfort in not needing to decipher their situation. "the benzodiazepines you took... it kept hurting me. i couldn't be around you."

"so... so you're..." she shakes her head. "how do you know me?"

"reciprocal schizophrenia," he explains slowly. "i searched it up last night and it might have something to do with a spiritual connection from our past life or something which probably sounds stupid but it describes us really well so i guess i just figured—"

"felix," she interrupts him, a smile growing on her face. "you're rambling."

"am i?" he glances at her, slowly replicating her grin. "it's been a long time."

she watches him, nodding slowly as more and more questions fill her mind. did he imagine me too? was i as important to him as he was to me? will he leave me again?

"yes, yes, and no," felix speaks up suddenly, startling hyerin out of her thoughts. she widens her eyes and meets his gaze as he leans forward, forcing her to slowly move back until she feels herself pressed against the the door behind her. he smiles gently at her nervousness.

"you could hear those?" she panics, her gaze flickering between his eyes.

"somewhat," he shrugs. "i can sense the essence of your thoughts. i think we have some catching up to do."

the two stare at each other for a few seconds longer before hyerin finally replies, her smile returning. "i think we do."

a/n: reciprocal schizophrenia is NOT a real condition.
