Chapter 1.3

What happened last time?

"Sub, your here!" I run up to him and hug him tight. He smiles and nods. Braden stops in his tracks and sees that I'm taking to Sub and turns around. "Who is this?" He asks me. This is going to take awhile to explain.

Alex POV

I explain everything to Braden, about how Sub and I met, how he came with me wherever I went, and how amazing of a friend he was. By the time I got done talking about it Sub was as red as a Tomato and we were in class. Luckily this school didn't have assigned seats like the last one but it did have strict teachers which is why, we chose the back corner desks.

"Well now that you've shown me your friend I can show you mine!" Corl says getting up and walking over to some people. "This is Denis the tall one, this is Sam the only girl in our group, and this is Jent." He said pointing to each one individually. "Denis, Sam, Jent meet Alex and Sub!" He add pointing at us.

"Hey Alex wanna' show off your rock?" Corl asks me. "Well, it's not a rock and um... I-" I get cut off by Denis. "Oh come on Alex just a little peek!" Jent adds "Yeah come on what harm will it do?" Sam on the other hand walks away as she notices Elijah come closer. "Come on Jent lets go." She says sternly.

"I'll show you guys sometime else OK?" I say as Elijah sits down next to Sub. "This is our spot, get out nerds!" He yells at us. We quickly get up and move to the front of the room just as the bell starts to ring.

Reading
Yeah I guess it went alright although they give a lot of home work on the first day. I also want to say that yes, the problems go from 0 to 100 on the first day.

Math
So this is probably the best class so far especially since it has one of those laid back teachers in it. The only bad thing about it was that the homework was still way to much.

Science
So here we had to partner up with some one to see how the sun worked. Guess who I go partnered up with? Ethan (or was it Elijah?) , yup the twins, both equally rude, mean, and not hardworking at all.

Music
Yes this was an easy one to pass through!

Chemistry
Yeah, let's just say that the teacher showed up late and we blew up a desk.

Lunch!
Finally food! Oh it's meatloaf. Yup I'm getting a bagged lunch next time! Siting by myself because I can't see Corl, Denis, Sam, or Jent. Sub also went to the office because he started a food fight. But he should be back soon.

Recess!
Now I can just relax and catch up on homework. Sub is also doing his and we're helping each other with it.

English
Same as Reading except this time more homework than before!

Gym
Turns out I'm not a favorite student because he says I'm doing everything wrong. Sub isn't with me and neither are the others so I'm alone. Luckily we do stretching and rock climbing, two things I can do with ease.

Social/History
What is the point of this class again? Oh yeah to bored you to death. I didn't think it was possible but it might be because almost everyone is A. Staring off into space, B. Doodling on paper, C. Sleeping.

Final class of the day is wait for it...
Make up time. Where you make up all of your lost work and homework in your cramped, with 40 other people, homeroom. But I don't see the point in it because our teacher says to pay attention as he goes over everything he have learned today. So that's my schedule Every. Single. Fricken. Day.

As soon as class is over I find Sub and the guys in room at the same table. When I opened the door they all turned to me and everyone was quiet. "So do you guys still want to see it?" I ask. They all nod except for Sam who says "I don't like this, we could get in trouble. Let's go Jent." "But Sa-" he tried to say but she interrupted him and said "I Don't want you to get in trouble and this could be dangerous!" And with that they left.

I slowly start to take it out but it feels heavier than before. When I bring it onto the table everyone starts to touch it and take down notes. I feel like I'm on the bus again cause of all the noise but a little bit quieter.

I talk to them about what my parents told me and what I know about it and they try to help me figure it out. "So it could be the key to everlasting life!?" Asks Corl. "Maybe?" I say unsure about it. Denis then asks "So what will happen when we break it open, will it just be a rock or will there be a jewel or Jim inside?" I think about this. "I don't know but I do know that I got it from the temple." We continue talking about it Denis was saying something but we were interrupted.

Just as we were all about to try something Elijah and Ethan came in. "Well well well, if it isn't the little dweeb and his fwens." Elijah or (is it Ethan?) says. "Go away!" I say almost yelling. "Ahhhh well if you want us to do that then you gotta fight for it." They laugh at the though of me beating one of them. "Just go away!" Corl yells standing up. "Yeah leave us alone!" Denis adds.

They start to come closer and we start to back up. I see out of the corner of my eye the artifact glowing a little like before, but this time they don't notice and come closer still. Soon we are all on the back wall, Sub holding me for dear life. I pat him on the head but he doesn't let go instead he hugs tighter. I look over at the artifact, it's now glowing brighter and brighter.

The twins whisper to each other and start to reach for it, but Denis, Corl, Sub, and I are all reaching for it too not letting them take it. Time suddenly slows down and I can see everything happening so slowly. As soon as we're all touching it I see the light from it get so bright it blinds me and knocks me back to the ground behind me and fall asleep.
