Chapter 1.4

What happened last time?

As soon as we're all touching it I see the light from it get so bright it blinds me and knocks me back to the ground behind me and fall asleep.

Alex POV

I woke up and saw some fire on the ground and when my eyes finally focused I could also see a few things floating, water on the ground, and everything moving in slow motion. My first question was What happened? But that quickly changed to Where was everyone else? I got up and looked around. No one.

I walked over to the door and saw the school empty and dark. I looked out the window and saw... MUM!?!? DAD!?!?Everything around me suddenly became black except for them and me, but I didn't notice because of my over excitement of seeing them. I run over to them but the closer I get the farther away we become. "Mum, dad I'm over here!" I yell at them. They look at me and start walking away as if they don't know who I am. I curl up in a ball and cry.

I'm suddenly stepped on causing me to become awake, but my eyes don't open, for they are to wet from crying they have sealed tight. I hear something moving to my right and water being splashed. I hear fire and  a soft humming sound around me.

I finally open my eyes and see them all lying on the ground looking as confused as I was. "What happened!?" Screamed Corl eyes wide with fear and excitement all at once. "I think we got blown up but survived it!" Explains Denis. "Well if we got blown up then why is there fire, water, and things floating Denis! Explain that!" Elijah(or is that Ethan?) yells at him. "Yeah and when you do I'll have proof that you are freak shows! I'll meet you at home Elijah." Ethan says getting out of the room.

Elijah starts to follow him but Sub grabs his hand and shakes his head. "Get away dweeb!" Elijah screams trying to push him away, but Sub kept his grip stayed strong. "Let go of me!" Elijah yells fighting Sub. "Stop we need to know what just happened and to do that we need all the information we can get so either you stay or we spread rumors that you guys are freaks like us!" Yells Corl walking up to him and pointing a finger in his face.

"Wait," Elijah says looking around the room, "where is that other boy?" They all turn around and start panicking. "Could Alex be dead?!" Exclaims Denis trying to sound brave but wasn't that good at it. I stare right at them. "Guys I'm right here!" I yell at them. They jump and turn looking everywhere for my voice. "What just happened?" Asked Elijah barely in a whisper. "I said I'm right here guys, don't play this stupid game. I know you can see me!" I say to them taking a step forwards tripping over a desk. "Ow." I say and get up.

I look at them to see that they look like they just saw a ghost. "Um guys you OK?" I ask them. Sub runs up to me and hugs me. I knew he only did this when he was scared but what of? "What's wrong Sub?" I ask him even though I know he never talked. "I think you just turned invisible." Corl says mouth dropping. "I what?" I asked again making sure I heard him clearly. "Alex, we couldn't see you before you tripped but now, now we can." Denis said backing up. "Well I'm outa here, cya later!" Elijah said and started to walk out again but this time Denis grabbed him and was burning his hand?! "OUCH DUDE STOP!" Elijah yelled. Denis let go and looked at his hands. Elijah all of the sudden shot a lightning bolt at him.

"Whoa, guys stop!" Corl yelled at them spraying water over everyone. We all looked at him and laughed. "So, I think we just got super powers." Denis said still looking at his hands. "Yeah it seems most likely because if it was a normal explosion the particles..." I see them all looking at me ding the 'are you serious?' Face. We all sit together and just try to make our powers work but something feels like it's slowing us down. Not even us the whole world. I look over at Sub and see him calm and relaxed. "Guys," I say in slow motion, "I think Sub has some sort of time powers!" They all look at Sub. He looks at us and suddenly everything is back to normal speed.

"Where did we get these powers?" Asks Elijah. I look over at the artifact and see not an artifact but instead...
