Izuku POV
Time Skip-The Next Day
I stayed overnight in the hospital and Mitsuku let Kacchan stay by my side. I awoke and he was asleep in the chair next to the bed laying his head on the bed and clutching my hand.
He looks so peaceful and innocent when he's asleep. He's so cute.
I smile to myself. How far we've come from when you used to bully me. I can't believe you actually loved me all the while. Now that I think about it, you only bullied me after you got your quirk and I never received mine. After that you'd say I could never become a hero. Now that I think about it, I think you were probably just trying to protect me from the dangerous world we live in. After seeing how dangerous those villains were yesterday, I'm not sure I would have survived had All Might not given me his quirk.
*Flashback to when All Might gave Midoriya his quirk*
"Young Midoriya, after seeing your actions to save your comrade without a quirk you inspired me even though my time limit was up." All Might says and lifts his shirt revealing a measly scar of a hole with lines spider-webbing of scars across his stomach and ribs. "Five years ago I was in a fight where I lost my entire stomach and my respiratory system was badly damaged. There is no cure for my condition. I was lucky to survive and that I may retain my status as a hero." His buff form shrinks so that he's very skinny, short, and frail looking. His hair goes from being smoothed back and tame to wild as if he'd stuck a fork in a light socket. "I shrink to this form and small amounts of steam are emitted from my body in transition. I only have about three hours a day I can be a hero. But before you can be one, we must train your body to be able to handle the quirk in the short time before the entrance exam at U.A."
-Three Months later-
A beach filled with large items of trash including old fridges and washers was cleared of all trash for his training. All Might looked down at me with a smile and pulled a strand of his hair out and handed it to me.
"In order for this to work you need to ingest my DNA. It will give you power but your body isn't built up enough for full power. You have to learn to control it or you could shatter your own bones. This quirk was passed down from my master and her master before her and so on. The remnants of each soul previous to us remain in this quirk. The dreams of justice and hope, wanting to live out one's dream-- one's life, those values are instilled in this quirk. I'm privileged to call you my successor."
*Back to the present*
Kacchan grumbles and shifts in his chair. I smile and squeeze his hand and he opens his eyes slowly and looks at me. His face turns crimson to match his eyes when he sees me smiling down at him. He sits up quickly and rubs his eyes.
"The fuck you lookin' at, Deku?!" He tries to say in his usual aggressive tone, but I see a smile trying to break through. He finally gives up and mumbles, "At least your feeling better, Nerd."
I gasp. "Kacchan! How are you feeling?! After everything that happened I never got the chance to ask you!" I say, ashamed for not thinking sooner.
"I'm fine, Deku. Recovery Girl patched me up. The police informed me while you were asleep that the group that attacked us was the League of Villains. The one we fought with was Dabi. The one with all the dumbass hands all over his body was Shigaraki and the one with the warp quirk was Kurogiri. They tried to kill All Might with a creature called a Nomu that had a combination of quirks, but I never saw it. By the time I got there it was gone and you were my only concern. What happened on your end after we were separated?" He says with concern filling his voice.
