*This is the sequel to my book In All honesty. Which I had lost interest in for a moment and gave it away. There are very few changes from that one to this one. Other than this book is in present time and their ages are back down to their normal ones (previously they were in their 20s). hope you all enjoy!*
Prologue
"Thank you Milwaukee!!" "We love you all so much!" "Have a good night!" "See you next time!!" "You're amazing!" We all shouted as we exited the stage.
"Great job girls!" Ally panted/called out as we high fived eachother.
"Babe that was amazing!"
I scratched my brow as I retreated to the dressing rooms as quickly as possible.
"Hey Lauren wait up," Dinah called out as she caught up with me.
"That was so crazy! This venue is awesome, we have to go on a paranormal venture as soon as we change!"
"Yeah yeah yeah," she sighed annoyedly brushing off my failed attempt at avoiding the conversation I knew she was about to start, "What was that back there?"
"What?" I played coi.
"Don't 'what' me you know exactly what, every time you get uncomfortable you scratch your head and find the closest exit. Now talk."
"No I really don't Dinah," if I've learned anything about avoiding a subject it's pretending like you know nothing.
"Yeah ok whatever. We both know what I'm talking about, so you can just listen. Austin is good for her. It's not confusing and it's not controversial. Camila is finally happy Lauren. You should be happy for her too. You have Luis -" I sighed loudly, cutting her off. I sat down and knew there was no averting this topic.
"The thing is... Luis isn't her," I looked down. She sighed.
"Well, you could've fixed everything 2 years ago. But you didn't. So honestly you have no right to feel jealous. Luis is good for you anyway, he's close to home and-"
"He's no closer than she is Dinah."
"Lauren. You need to move on."
"Do you know what today is?"
"Um. The day we performed in Milwaukee?"
"2 years. It's been 2 years since that night," she let out another sigh as she looked at me with pity.
"Lauren, I'm not kidding. Move on before you do something stupid," she said even more sternly.
Right then the other 3 girls came crashing into the dressing room. I stood up swiftly and turned around to my clothes, acting like I was arranging them.
"Hey where'd you guys go?!" Ally asked- more like shouted- laughing.
"Here?" I replied with sass as I turned back around slapping on a smirk - they're much easier to use when hiding sadness.
"Yeah- well- whatever! You guys missed it! It was so funny, Brad and Connor found these excersize balls and tried running into each other and they--"
Her voice trailed off as I only pretended to listen. I looked at her. Dinah was right, I did have a chance to fix everything 2 years ago. But I didnt. I shouldn't be jealous. I smiled as I saw her laughing, she hates that laugh but all I hear is pure joy and happiness. She's happy, and I need to be happy for her. Even if its means not because of me.
Flashback - 6 months ago
"Lolo?" My eyes shot up from my book instantly. I hadn't heard that voice call me that in over a year. She peeked from out of her bunk to me in the lounge.
"Yes?" I asked, hiding how nervous I was to really talk to her. Not just in an interview because we have to. She quietly climbed out of her bunk and came nearer. She turned and pressed the button to close the door. I hate open doors, but this closed door made it feel like the walls of the tour bus were crashing in on me.
"Hey," she said shyly..
"Hey," I responded, forgetting how to communicate with the love of my life.
"I uhm... well... I want to be able to be friends with you," I stared at her, not really knowing what to say. There was nothing more that I wanted than to be friends with her, if anything. But I didn't even know how. I'm too scared that I'll ruin it somehow just like I ruined everything else during the xfactor, "do, do you not want to?"
"No of course I do, of course I do," I said quickly correcting my silence, "I just... I don't know how to apologize for everything I've done.."
"It's been so long... let's just. Forget?" I felt the corner of my mouth curl into a smile. I knew I'd never be able to forget, let alone forgive myself for hurting her. But I'm good at pretending.
"Alright," I answered. A big smile grew on her lips.
"Good. That's great," she stood and pushed the button again. She turned one last time and said, "Goodnight, friend."
I knew right when she said that, 'friend', I'd never get over that girl. Don't get me wrong, Luis is the most amazing guy anyone could as for. I really do love him and he's been so sweet and caring. Everything I've ever wanted, he's just not... her.
