Chapter 2

Realizing what I had just said made me tremble in fear. Amanda turned around and walked back over to me quickly as the cafeteria fell silent and watched.

"What did you just say to me?"

She looked me straight in the eyes, staring without saying a word, waiting on a reply.

"You can't just go around saying shit like that Amanda! Do you not realize that there are other people that have feelings unlike yourself? She was my best fucking friend you heartless bitch!" I ranted.

Amanda just stared and stood there, not saying anything. Then within a blink of an eye, she punched me straight in my face, knocking me completely off my feet. Once I was on the ground I didn't even have the time to comprehend what had just happened. Amanda had gotten her group of friends to gang up and beat me all together. I couldn't fight back alone, there were at least 7 girls punching and kicking me. All I could hear was the chants of the other kids in the cafeteria, "Fight, fight, fight!". Finally after some time the girls got pulled off of me from the teachers and the principal. I had blacked out shortly after that.

I had awoken in my own bed, confused I cautiously got up. Moving carefully I grimaces in pain as I moved, I groaned and lifted my shirt up a little to see huge bruises on my sides and stomach. I tear up from the pain but I willingly make my way to the living room to see if anyone else is home. As I turned around the corner of the hallway into the living room, I see my dad sitting in his recliner. I turned slightly to also see two women on the couch diagonal from the recliner.

"Dad? What's going on..? Who are these people?" I asked him worryingly.

I looked over at the women again, confused and curious as to who the hell they were. Once they turned around, I saw my cousins face as one of the women sitting there. I smiled with glee and walked quickly to hug my cousin.

"Rose?! Oh my gosh, I haven't seen y'all since mamma's funeral... What are you guys doing all the way in Oklahoma?"

My dad spoke up before Dani could have a chance to reply.

"Since you had to go ruin your first day at school by starting a fight and getting expelled like the dumbass you are, I called Laura since they were about to leave from vacation over here and take your dumb self with them. Good riddance!"

Hurt by all the names her dad just called her in front of her mom's family, she stopped to think for a moment, then finally spoke.

"So wait... I'm moving to California with you guys?" I asked.
