What about us?

Chapter 3

Gabriella's p.o.v

"I'll tell you... well some I'm going to leave out some things cause I don't want to talk about it..." I pause, he nods, I continue, "when I was 18, just graduated, I decided to drive home with my friends and my  younger sister. When we got home, my parents weren't at the surprise party they wanted to surprise me and my friends with... me and my sister, Sarah tried to call them but they didn't answer.

One of my friends' dad was a paramedic so he called his dad... his dad said he was on his way to a accident scene near the school. 5 minutes later my friend informed us that it was my parents..."

I tried not to cry but at this point I was sobbing so bad. Justin came and hug me. He told me I didn't have to continue but I did.

"My dad died instantly, my mom well, had a lot of internal bleeding. She underwent like 35 surgeries and the medical bills was very high. So basically, she's unfit to work, so I provide for them. Sarah's got a part time job which helps but not a lot. I work so hard and don't quit my job just because I need the money. I need to pay for Sarah's school, my mom's medications, buy groceries and pay bills. I barely have any left for myself, as you can see, but I have just enough to pay rent and basic groceries. I don't really care a lot about luxury but it would be nice just to have a bit of help."

I finish and suddenly Justin hugs me.
"I'm glad you told me." I just look down at the carpet.
"I can help you, you know?"
I look up to him. "No J, we just met and I don't want to burden you with my troubles. We agreed to $15 000 and no more."

"Gabs, just let me help. Let me at least pay for your sister?"

"No Justin. I don't want you to maybe have to struggle financially because of me." I give him a sad smile.

"Gabs, I won't. I have millions in my bank account. Please let me help." I continue to shake my head.
"You're so stubborn Gabriella... but one day, one day you'll let me help you."
I give a small chuckle. "No Mr. Finlay. Not happening."
"Alright then... but I'm taking you shopping as a thank you gift and I'm not taking no for an answer!"

Before anyone can say something, Justin's phone rings. I don't hear what he says, cause I doze off but I then hear him telling me he has to go. I give him a hug and go lay down on the couch.

Why am I always tired? I fall asleep and start to dream of that day... I see it again, the accident scene on the tv, the doctor telling me Dad died, telling me Mom is in surgery and might not make it... I relive those feelings and the worst day of my life.

I woke up screaming. Tears stream down my face and I feel so alone. So heartbroken.
I hear my door opening and there he is, Justin.
"I left my wallet here, so I came back for it. I heard you scream so I came in." He says that while he walks to me. He takes me in his arms and I just sit there. Crying in his arms.
Why do he make me feel safe? I can't possibly fall in love. No, I just can't. Not after what Dy... no, I'm not allowed to.
