God Dammit! I ran towards the shadow that had just escaped my grasp. I lunged forward and struck him with my silver axe. "Come on you Little Shit! Stop Fucking Moving!" His once full shadow split and he screeched in agony.

"You Little Bitch! Don't Touch Me!" He boomed. His voice was contorted like most supernatural creatures and his soul was long gone. I struck him with my axe again and pulled a bottle from my belt.

I shoved the cap open and chanted, "I pray to you Almighty God! May you bestow upon me the strength to punish this ghoul in the name of your son Jesus Christ!" I forcefully aimed the glass bottle at the shadow in front of me and felt a rush of energy consume me. "Now may you feel the wrath of God Unholy Being! This is your punishment!" I rose my left hand and pointed at the shadow. He squirmed and energy poured into my left hand all the way to my fingertips. I guided my finger from his shadow to the bottle and he was plunged into it almost immediately. "May God have mercy on your soul.... Ass wipe." I murmured the last part and felt a sting on my right hand where i was holding the bottle. "Sorry." I felt another sting, "Ok I lied, I'm not sorry, but come on he was an ass wipe am I right?" The sting was stronger this time and I rolled my eyes. "I'll shut up now."

I hung the bottle back onto my belt and walked out of the alleyway. I shoved my hands into my pockets and enjoyed the breeze.  It was a dark night and I could hear the wolves howling. I hope none of them are werewolves 'cause I am not in the mood to deal with them. I walked to the library on 5th Street and pulled the doors open. "Hello Eleanor how are you today?" Miss Sheldon asked.

"Ugh... Lousy. Today was absolute shit! I mean like I found this ghoul right, and tell me why it took me THREE FUCKING HOURS to find that little shit! It makes no sense. Whatever, that was the first time in a while that I took a class 1 mission. Those fuckers are always moving around, but they are the easiest to subdue so I shouldn't be complaining that much right?"

"Hahaha! Oh Eleanor you really need to take a chill pill. You're so angry all the time. I know that what happened with Carl was hard for you but... it doesn't mean it's the end or whatnot. You've still got a wonderful life ahead of you." I glared at her and her eyes widened.

"S-sorry... I just, I'm not going to live my life acting like nothing happened. Plus he's bound to me. I see him all the time, which makes it even harder for me to... let go." I placed the bottle on the desk where Miss Sheldon was and said, "I have a gift for Barnaby." She looked at the contents and walked me to the elevator. I grabbed the bottle and hooked it back on. As we approached the elevator in the back she grabbed an old key from her lanyard and placed it into a keyhole below the buttons. She turned it and the door behind us opened to a flight of stairs going down. "I'll see you later Miss Sheldon."

"Carl will disappear one day ya know, for good. I hope you'll be ready for that." She smiled and I gave her a weak one in return.

I walked down the stairs and a small white room was at the bottom. The door had a sensor in the shape of a rectangle with an outline of a circle. I placed my hand on it and the outline turned green. A female's voice said, "Identify yourself."

I hated this part. We had so many codes like whenever we had caught a supernatural being we had to tell Miss Sheldon that it was a gift for Barnaby so she could open the door. Her family have been the keepers of this 'lair' I guess you can say for centuries. And now in order to 'identify myself' I had to say the most ridiculous things that no one would expect me to say so that they'd know I wasn't some demon trying to take away my identity. It was protection from identity theft at a whole other level. "Unicorns were my favorite animal as a kid. Edgar Allan Poe was my spirit animal as a kid. And..." I hated this part. "I had the biggest crush on Justin Beiber as a kid." We had to reveal childhood secrets because supernatural beings other than fairies hate purity and would despise saying anything so cute and embarrassing really. Plus what better things to say then things from our childhood? Children are pure creatures so if we were to reveal anything during any time in our life then it would have to be from our childhood. Even though mine wasn't that great.
