Quick note: I did edit this but I may have missed a few things so I'll reedit this later just in case 'cause knowing me I messed up somewhere.
Miss Sheldon stopped the elevator and covered the camera in the corner of the elevator with her shawl. "You listen to me Eleanor Addison. This is serious so if you're trying to joke around with me, now is not the time."
My heart sped up and her eyes were stern. "I'm not messing with you Miss Sheldon."
"Tell me about your dreams."
I gulped and closed my eyes. I wish Carl would pop up and save me like he usually does as a ghost. "It always... starts in the dark. I'm just walking alone in the dark and then I somehow stumble onto this rock like thing. And then I realize that it's made out of crystal and minerals ranging from blues and purples. Light reflects off the mineral like structure and then... I... see a face. It's of a man, he's sleeping but then he opens his eyes and they're Black! They're completely black! I'm not usually afraid of these things but he had no soul. You can tell that he never had one. His eyes were dead and blank, even class 1 demons show emotions and they're the dumbest most simplistic ones there are! Normal vampires still feel! But this thing, man whatever it is doesn't."
"Eleanor, you keep this to yourself, understand? You can tell Carl but no one else for now, not even the chief. They'll use you and take advantage of you. Since you're going on the mission anyways to retrieve his coffin only then should you reveal yourself. Offer him your blood and you will become bonded to him. Make sure the vampires don't find out and that you get him before they do." She pushed the stop button again and the elevator began to move. "You can trust Avery Warren, Carl, and I. That is it. I'll inform you if anything else gets brought up." Right before the doors opened she grabbed her shawl and smiled at me. She walked me out of the building and said, "Not a word. Remember."
I nodded and walked to the bus stop. "Why have you never told me?" I looked to my side and saw a faded man. It was still hard to believe that he was really dead.
"Carl, Fuck my life."
"Oh shiznits. Look we'll get through this." He pretended to pat my shoulder and I glared at him.
"What the fuck do you mean? And why are you doing that?! You can't even touch me! Ugh I don't want to give up my life to some Vampire. I freken kill them for a living, how in the world am I going to be able to worship the damned guy?"
"You have a point, but if it's meant to be can't you try it out? Plus what if a vampire hasn't dreamed of him in this century? If they haven't then you're fine."
"The vampires have been talking about it apparently. I think they have someone who's seen it. Oh look the bus is coming, come on, we'll continue this conversation at home."
He nodded and I swiped my bus pass as I got onto the bus. After thirty minutes I got off the bus and Carl reappeared. "So, why haven't you ever mentioned anything about these dreams to me?"
"Look I just... I couldn't. I didn't even know why I was dreaming about it. I never considered them nightmares but they were a little freaky." I said.
"You still haven't answered my question."
"..." I looked up at his floating figure and sighed. He was the love of my life, still is in a way. When we first met I was a junior in high school about to run away from my home and he found me right before I was about to get eaten alive by a class 2 demon. Good times haha. I was confused at the time because ever since I was a kid I was able to see things other people couldn't and it made me feel alone and awkward. My parents didn't help the fact that I was feeling so alone because they were busy beating my ass, telling me how worthless I was every fucking day, and thought I was insane from seeing what I saw. But guess what? I was totally not insane, it was all real! But it's not like I can tell them that. Not that I'd want to anyway. We're not allowed to expose the supernatural world to the general, clueless if I might add, public. "Carl, I didn't tell anybody about it because I didn't know what it meant. I assumed it was normal or some weird thing that went along with being a hunter. I didn't know any better, I still don't!"
