The night was almost silent, you could hear nothing but the faint rumbles of traffic and echoes of wind rustling through the trees. Everyone stayed in their dorms, or houses and enjoyed themselves or they slept. All except for two teenagers. Two young adults who whilst their friends slept, they went to enjoy some peace together.

Kid and Dia could be seen climbing up the fire escape, snowflakes drifted down slowly, landing in the exposed bits of hair and their thick, wooly hoodies, making them even more beautiful than before. You could hear them laughing, and giggling as they started skipping gracefully across the roof. They ran onto the middle; pulling each other along, big smiles overtaking their faces, they flopped down onto the roof after a while.

Dia grabbed Kids hand, entangling their fingers; grinning as they turned their heads to gaze upon the starry night sky. For one night at least, they could pretend the rest of the world didn't matter. There was no stress, no worry, no fear about the future as they laid together.

"Dia?" Kid asked hesitantly and softly,
"Yeah?" Dia replied absentmindedly,
"Do you think we'll stay together, that everything will one day be okay?"
Dia hesitated, "I do, together we can conquer the world, and we will."
"I love you"
Sharing a small kiss between them Dia replied
"I love you too, for tonight; just enjoy the stars and everything we are."

They closed the gap between them, sides pressing against each other, and they became numb to the world, the only thing they could hear was the soft sounds of the other breathing, their hearts filled with love for one another.

The night sky twinkled, glittering with stars, and constellations. As they gazed up, their minds only racing with thoughts of each other. They drifted off into a peaceful sleep. Close to each other, and happy.
