The Nightmare Dimension
It all started with a portal... to the nightmare dimension...
The day was October 31st, everyone out at night in costumes and basically begging for free candy. This year I was gonna stay home, I felt that I was to old for trick or treating, I had just started 7th grade at a new school and a new house. My parents decided to follow my sister around trick or treating, so I was left alone to deal with annoying kids.
I personally don't like my house, at night there are loud bangs from in the walls as if something or someone was trying to get in, but my mom said it was just the house settling. I didn't believe her, I mean, the bangs were overly loud, it wasn't a small creaking or tapping, it was banging, it sounded like someone was slamming there body against the inside of our walls. My mom still wouldn't believe my ghost stories.
The owners before us went missing and my mom said that they just ran away without letting anyone know, but it's been a year and no one knows where they are yet. I say that someone killed the old owners and got rid of the bodies, but my mom tells me to stop before I scare myself. I ignored her and told the people at my school, at least they believed me.
Someone was ringing the doorbell over and over as I clicked out of my daydreaming, I ran to the door and apologized to the kids. I grabbed the candy dish and the kids took over the candy by taking handfuls of Hersheys and Snickers. They then ran away with only their parents saying thank you, but I let it slide, the kids don't want to talk all they want is the free candy.
I went back to the couch to continue watching my anime series on Netflix I had just started.
The next time I checked the clock it was 3:00, after answering the door over and over, giving candy to kids I must have fell asleep. The thing that woke me up was the loud banging in the walls, they seemed to be louder than usual. I was awake and bored so I decided to check it out.
I creeped down the rickety stairs to the basement like in a horror movie, waiting for pennywise or Annabelle to jump out at me and take me to the pits of hell. I reached the basement floor, ice cold concrete made me shiver. I went to hit the light switch but of course it didn't work, so I had to grab a flashlight.
The banging grew louder as I got closer to the stone wall. I reached out to the wall and grabbed onto a brick, but the brick didn't stay still. It fell onto the floor with a big "BANG!", I jumped back and let out a small scream. I laughed at how scared I was, and moved the brick aside. I shone the flashlight inside the hole where the brick was, and realized that there was a hidden room behind this wall. I pulled off and quietly set aside the other bricks, as I tried to bring up the courage to go into the room.
When enough bricks were removed so that I could fit through, I grabbed my flashlight, in my mouth so I could see what's coming and I slowly stepped into the room.
The room was almost empty besides another set of stairs leading deeper into the ground. I felt like an explorer, discovering new land in this house. I realized how musty and dusty it was so I leaped back through the hole and quickly grabbed one of those medical masks and a pair of scissors for protection. I was now ready for this adventure.
I slapped the mask on and held my flashlight close to me. I creeped into the room and to the corner where the stairs started, I looked into the almost endless stairwell and saw something glowing at the end. This made me even more curious.
I tiptoed down the wooden stairs not knowing what was to come. The glowing light was getting brighter and I could hear the banging more clearly. The light looked like a galaxy, it was unbelievable and I couldn't stop staring. The light brought me closer like it was whispering my name, I knew I shouldn't get too close but I couldn't turn back.
