She sits at the windowsill of her room.
The ground was 18 meters below her. Even though she knows that if she would fall her life would have a painful end. Her one leg dangles in the air. Sometimes she just wish to fall only to feel the hurt. In her mind the same play starts again everytime she sit there. The sky is gray like the day her little brother felt down of it.He crawls in her room. She did see it but ignores him because she had a date. She watched satisfied her reflection in the mirror.
She looked good with her shocolate brown skin and her black curly hair. But what she really made spacial were her light blue eyes. In her dress which had the same colour as her iris it seemed like she was a model and not the sixteen year old highschool pupil.
The little boy, almost still a baby, touched her legs to get more of her attention. She pushed him annoyed away. She was already late so she had to hurry up.
"Ahh!", he cried. No, she would not let him ruin this evening just because their parents were at work. While she was going herself ready he climbed at the sill. A loud scream interrupted her: "Ihhahh!"
In the next second followed a low, faint sound. She, not realising what happened, shouted angrily: "Felix, stay quite. I have no time. Not now."
When she did not hear him she turned around to say sorry for these hard words and saw him nowhere. Then she get it. She stood up and ran to the the window but it was to late.
Her date became irrelevant. On the flour he lied. One arm was in a strang position. Her heart begun to beat fast in her breast. It felt like it would break every second. She grabed her mobilephone and raced out of her room, out of the apartment and down the stairs. While the house's automatic door was opening she unlocked her phone and called the ambulance service.
"Help! Please! My brother! He has been falen out the window.", she says breathlessly.
"Please, calm down.", he waited if she really became stiller and she did. Then he spoke again: "So, what happens?"
Her eyes wided as she spot the little boy. "My brother felt out the window which is in the fifth flour.", her voice broke at the end.
"Where are you?",the rescue worker asked.
"I'm behind the building, near him. It's address is Jacobsstreet 19a.", the tears ran down her cheeks. In time they became more and faster.
"We're coming. Stay there! Now you have to tell me how you brother is wounded!", he instructed her.
It was not hard to describe what she saw because she was not able to looke away. His face almost looked like he was sleeping but the blood which covered the asphalt near his little head made the scenery surreal.
"He bleeds somewhere perhaps on his head and his one arme is presumably broken.", she said.
"Okay, now look if he is breathing and if you feel his pulse!", he gave another instruction.
Slowly she stretched out her hand and touched his scrag. There was nothing to feel. She swallowed.
"I do not feel his puls.", her voice shook.
"Is he breathing?", he repeated.
"No, I don,t thinks so. No!", at this time she started realizing that he might die. Her eyes became wetter and wetter till tears rolled out of them. The phone aprutly started to beep. Has he ended the call or had she?
She fell to her knees. The tears smadged her make up she had so perfectly apply. In the distance she hears sirens.
She was sitting there the whole evening but no ambulance came. Her body spasms when she thinks about it. It happened two months ago.
Her parents marriage divorced one weeks after her brother died. Her mother said she could not live here one second longer because of the place and her dauther, the murderer of her little, sweet and innocent Felix."Sophia, you've killed him. You!", she screamed at her.
"No, mom! No! I didn't want this.", Sophia shouted back. Then became her vioce pleadingly. She begged: "Please, don't go! I love you. I need you."
Her mother just looked back. With every second her countenance became more and more furious. Her hand shot out to slap the girl in front of her. Sophia slipped out a silent whimper. Then she turned around and ran in her room.
She lied down and pressed the pillow on her face. Sophia was so sad and angry. How can it be her fault if her brother fell out her window? How can it be her fault if no ambulance arrived? What could have been done better?
In the kitchen her parents argued about this situation.
Her mother have never loved her as much as Felix but her father did. Perhaps that was the only reason she was still alive and did not use the knife on her desk.
A soft knock interrupted her depressive thoughts.
"Yeah!", she said hoping her mother come in and apologize for what she called her.
But her father came in. He sat down on the bed. He stock: "She don't really think so though she says it. Your mother loves you. I'm sure about it."
"No, I don't think so. She hate me. She even slaped me.", Sophia responded and point at her flushing cheek.
"It is going to be good again. I promise.", her father stood up and smiled. Then he walked out the room. The door closed loudly.
But it does not.
At this evening her mother took all her clothes and other stuff and left the family.Sometimes she feels so lonely and sometimes so angry.
Despite Sophia is really smart her marks became worse. She lost most of her friends although some trys to help her.Her father can also not make her smile. She do not laugh anymore or shows any feelings.
"Sophia, come! Let's go! We are late.", she hears his voice.
Today is the last day she sits here and stares at the sky. It will be the last time she walks out this door. Sophia stands up.
"Yes, I'm coming.", she almost sounds happy. No, she does not want to live in this damne apartment, this damne city and this damne state. It was the first time in her life she will be upon the clouds when she flys. Her bag has already been carry down stairs.
She slowly stands up. Sophia left the her room without looking back; she left the appartment; the house without looking back. Like she is in trance she get in the car. Please tell me if there any mistakes. I'll korrek them as quick as I can. Thank you for reading.
