Draven claps his hands, admiring, "Bravo! At this rate, you'll be out of here in a few years."

"What?" I ask with confusion, my eyes searching his.

"Time works differently here," Draven lifts his chin and nods at the obsidian door we'd come through into this chamber. He motions for me to follow him while he says, "It's already been a few months on Earth."

My eyes widen in complete shock, asking him, "Wait, how? I...how did..." everything rushes through my mind, my thoughts immediately straying to my friends.

"Don't dwell too long on the mortal plane," Draven shrugs his shoulders, "they're dull, lack of entertainment...well, except for those wonderful and devoted followers to Lucifer," he pauses as the palm of his hand touches the door and it crumbles away as it once did before, "they're quite the enthusiastic and entertaining bunch."

My wings fold close against my back, still very much in awe as to how incredible this foreign feeling is.

Can I fly?

Trailing behind Draven, I ask him, "Am I allowed to ask you about yourself?"

"That's assuming I want you to know anything," Draven chuckles, his arms moving slightly at his sides while we walk down a corridor, the warmth continuing to overheat my body. It feels like we're walking forever, my vision crossing as my skin sears with heat, gasping when my breathing comes short.

I lose my footing, falling forward and collapsing to the ground. Losing consciousness briefly, I'm brought back to the present when water hits my face. Exhaling sharply, I look around, Draven towering to the side of me, while an imp skirts around me with a bucket in its hands.

It grins and cackles, asking Draven, "Sir, am I good now? I've done well to awaken the bird?"

Bird?

Really?

Draven chuckles and nods, waving the imp away and saying, "Gorge to fill your heart's content." The imp excitedly flaps its wings, taking to the air and moving away quickly. Sitting up, I look around, perspiring as he states, "I believe it's time we alter and upgrade your attire."

"Why?" I ask while slowly getting to my feet.

Draven grins wickedly, "Considering you don't want to fly free so to speak, you're going to continue to pass out until you get out of those horrendously stuffy clothes and into more suitable attire."

I place a hand to my forehead, feeling how the heat dives further beneath my skin, understanding that I'm not going to finish with these trials if I can't stay conscious. Nodding my head, Draven turns away from me, calling over his shoulder, "This way, feathers."

Draven leads me to another corridor, reaching the very end to a circular dome room. This door is crafted from obsidian, just like the others, though the centerpiece holds a tiny indentation. I come to halt next to him, watching as he leans forward, his lips parting in the process. His irises transition to an electric blue, breathing out wisps of black and red, nothing like what Pandora had shown with restoring the soul and life of Kristjan.
