Chapter 1: Last Day Of Junior Year

"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP"

I sat up in my bed waking up to that awful sound. It was 6:30 in the morning and it was my last day of junior year. I wasn't dreading the day because I knew it would go by fast. Also, I knew that tomorrow I'd be waking up to a beautiful summer day. I took off the blanket and slid out of my bed. Walking to my closet, my phone buzzed. I walked over to read the message that said "House Party Tonight... My Place! ;)" It was from my friend Ansley. Ansley was one of my really good friends. She was 5'8" with brown/blonde hair, and really pretty green/blue eyes.

I replied back and ran back to my closet. I needed to wear an extremly cute outfit before summer began. I had to make a great last impression. The outfit I picked out was a white lace tanktop with a navy blue cover up and a peachy colored pencil skirt with gold sandals. I curled my hair and pulled half of it back with a little bump. I'm not big on make up I try my hardest to make it look as natural as possible. I grabbed my bag and ran up the stairs to the kitchen. I quickly grabbed a Strawberry Poptart and an Apple Juice and hurried out the door to my car. It was a cute 1999 White Honda Accord. It was literally brand new. It may have been 12 years old but it didn't look or run that way.

I arrived at the school 15 minutes early. Ansley was waiting for me by my locker. She greeted me with a big hug and handed me my books for class. The bell rang and we walked to our first period.

The bell to release us from school rang and everyone stormed out of their rooms screaming and yelling. I couldn't believe it summer was finally here. I got in my car and drove home to pack my things for Ansley's house. When I pulled in I noticed my mom and dad were both home early. That was really strange considering my mom works after school and my dad doesn't usually get home until 8.

I walked in the house to find my parents in the living room waiting for me to come in and sit down. I sat on the couch by the TV. When I looked up I saw my parents holding passports and plane tickets. My jaw dropped. They smiled and said "We're going to London!" I immediately jumped up out of the seat in excitement. It's been a dream of mine to go to London since I was 12!

"How is this so?!" I asked.

"Your dad got a raise and we thought we'd celebrate! We're leaving tomorrow night." She said with an excited and happy look on her face.

"Tomorrow?! I better get to packing." I shouted rushing off to my room packing fo a summer long trip to London.

After I finished packing I grabbed some things for the party tonight and then went to Ansley's house. Pulling in I saw trash all over the yard people were acting like idiots. One guy was streaking down the street. Getting out of my car I saw Ansley by the pool with a bunch of guys. I walked up and they all turned around saying hey. I smiled at Ansley and rolled my eyes. She was a big flirt.

"So, Courtney... What do you say we go for a swim?" Chandler said winking at me.

I laughed "You'd do anything to get with me Chandler. If you want this, you're gonna have to try a little bit harder!"

He smiled and rolled his eyes walking over to the snack table. "He's cute Courtney. Why don't you date him?" Ansley said while nudging my arm.

"He's just not my type I guess. He's too good. He makes straight A's and has perfect attendance. He doesn't have a bad bone in his body!"

"Courtney you don't have a bad bone in your body..."

"I know but I just want a bad boy. Opposites attract ya know."

"Yes,I know. But atleast think about it."

"I will"

When the night was over everyone had left. The only people that were left was Chandler, Brett, Ansley, and I. Brett and Ansley were cleaning the front yard while Chandler and I had the backyard.  I picked up some trash and started to walk to the trashcan. I walked by the pool and before I knew it I had slipped and fell in. I started to panic to the point that I couldn't swim. The water was so cold and it all happened unexpectedly causing me to freak out. I don't know why I couldn't swim, I just couldn't. Next thing a remember there were a strong pair of arms pulling me out of the water. I was coughing up water and I had blurred vision. When my vision started to clear I saw Chandler leaning over me he was soaking wet.

"Courtney! Wake up!" He yelled.

Coughing I said "I'm awake. I'm fine!"

"What happened?!!" Ansley yelled coming around the corner.

"I just fell in. I'll be fine!" I huffed.

"Go inside and dry off." Ansley said lifting me up off the ground.

I walked inside and threw on a fresh pair of pajamas. I laid on Ansley's bed and closed my eyes. Before I knew it I was asleep.
