Authors note: Alex and Bobbi are not my original characters. A wonderful writer named katelyn is allowing me to use them. Here is some backstory on them(which was also written by her lol)

Bobbi:

Run
It’s been months. We still haven’t been caught.
Run
It’s all we can do, I guess. What other choice do we have? We’re abominations.

~7 months earlier~
Deep breath. They won’t find you. It’s only lunch with your sister. The comforting feel of the metal of my gun  on my skin is comforting. It’s been months since I’ve seen my sister, and I really look forward to seeing her.
I enter the restaurant and see Alex sitting there in her dress. She always has been the more attractive sister, even though we’re identical twins.

“Bobbi!” She shouted as she approached me with open arms.
I knew something wasn’t right. The café was empty... too empty. A window flew open and a grenade flew in!

“Alex!—" it detonated. There was a flash, and everything went dark.

After opening my eyes after what felt like hours, I limped away to try and find my sister. How did I survive that...?

I crawled until I came upon what appeared to be shattered glass. I looked at it and saw my reflection—

“AH!” I screamed. Wha- what happened to me?

My eyes were completely black, and what looked like oil was flowing down my cheeks from my eyes and my mouth. I looked down at my hands, and they were dark and fuzzy. They looked like black holes that were flowing from my fingertips like smoke. My naturally brown hair was pitch black.

I instantly collapsed. When I looked up, I finally saw my sister.

She was levitating, her hair as white as snow, and her eyes and mouth had pure light beaming from within them.

“Alex! Alex wake up!” I desperately pleaded.

My now blonde sister dropped and landed with a loud thud. I heard sirens wailing in the distance. However, I knew we couldn’t be seen. I took her by the hand and started to run.

“Bobbi? What happened?”

“No time to explain. C’mon!” And with that, we sprinted away into the sunset.

Alex:

After 7 months on the run, we’ve finally settled down. Well, if you consider staying in one place for more than two weeks ‘settling down’. After returning from our morning walk in the forest, we finally returned to Moe’s Motel— a small, run-down cabin in the middle of nowhere. It was abandoned years ago, so we got this place for free, plus a few unwanted rodents.

During our walk, we like to practice using our powers. On mornings after it’s rained, Bobbi helps me shower, as she can manipulate water. Bobbi can also control shadows, darkness, and she has enhanced agility.

I, on the other hand, manipulate fire, control light, I have enhanced senses, and I can fly! Bobbi is pretty jealous of my flight abilities, so sometimes I let her ride on my back (which is childish, I know).

We call ourselves yin and yang— darkness and light. We always stick together, no matter what. We have little necklaces, which is stupid, I know, that we wear. Mine is yin, to remind me of Bobbi, and her’s is yang, to remind her of me.

We got back to the cabin, and a tall, lean woman was sitting on our porch. She winced when she saw us, probably because she has never seen our eyes. Mine are made of light, where her’s are like an abyss.

My first instinct was to run. Bobbi grabbed my arm to hold me in place.

“Who are you,” my sister asked sternly. “And what do you want?”

The woman stood up and walked towards us. The sun was shining on her, making her appear even taller. She towered over us, making me feel like a coward beneath her.

When the woman didn’t answer, her shadow wrapped around her body as if it were a snake, and began to gently squeeze.

“Who are you?” She asked as the woman began to sweat nervously. “And what. Do. You. Want.”

“I am Samantha Carlten. I am the counselor for a secret group of enhanced individuals. I need you to come with me. If you do not, I will have to take you by force.”

Screw this. I thought to myself. I’m out of here. I flew up, but before I could get far the woman shot me with a weak taser gun. Bobbi squeezed her even harder with her own shadow. I thought her eyes would pop right out of her head!

I rose, and Bobbi and I glanced at each other. “Fine.” Bobbi muttered. “We’ll come.” She released the woman-I mean Samantha- and we walked to her black SUV.

After many hours of driving in silence, we arrived at what I could only assume was HQ. Bobbi stepped out of the car in her long, black hooded cloak. I don’t have a cloak or spandex tights, just my white dress. The same one I wore during the day of the explosion. A chill ran down my spine at the thought.
