I woke up with my phone lying on my chest. I tried to turn it on, but it was dead. So I looked at my alarm clock on my desk by my bed, and it said 8:00 a.m.
I'm already late for school! I thought.
I got dressed as fast as I could and rushed out the door. I charged my phone in my car on the way to school, so it was at 40% when I got there.
I got there in the middle of first period, and I walked in the room and walked swiftly to my seat. Everyone watched me until the teacher told them to pay attention to him instead of me. I was read all over, and I saw Corbyn smiling at me. That made me blush even more.

We sat down at our usual table at school, and Phil asked me why I was late.
"I fell asleep with my phone in my hand, and I woke up at eight. So I hurried as fast as I could to get here."
"Well, at least you didn't miss first period completely," he replied.
"I guess"
Blair seemed extra quiet, so I asked her what was the matter, "Blair, are you okay? You're being really quiet."
"I'm fine," she said curtly.
"Okay...if you need anything—"
"I said I'm fine!" She almost yelled.
"Oh...okay. Sorry." I whispered, barely audible.
Everyone looked surprised and concerned. I didn't really feel like interacting with anyone after that.
I know she didn't mean it, but she didn't have to be so rude.

I still didn't feel like talking to anyone at this point in the day. And I had my least favorite teacher, of course.
The bell rang signaling the end of school. She actually let us out on time today. I went straight to my locker without looking anywhere but the ground until I got to my destination. Instead of waiting for everyone else, I just went straight to my car and got in. My phone had run down on battery again, so I plugged it in again. I heard someone knock on my window, and I looked to see who it was. It was Corbyn.
I rolled down the window and said, "What is it, Corbyn? I really want to go home and take a nap. I don't feel well."
"Oh. I was going to ask if you wanted to go someplace with us. But if you don't feel up to it, that's fine. Will you be okay to drive?"
"I think so." I had a sudden pain in my head and held it.
"Nope, I'm taking you home. Get out."
"No, I'm fine. I'll be fine."
"Nope. Get out. You can leave your car here, and I'll pick you up tomorrow morning so you can drive it home tomorrow."
"Fine." I got out of my car and locked it. As I was walking over to Corbyn's truck I felt someone tap my shoulder. I ignored it, but then I heard a soft voice say, "Ronny?"
I looked back, and it was Cheryl. I could tell by the look on her face she needed to tell me something important.
"What's wrong, Cheryl?" I asked.
"Well, I just wanted to tell you that Blair didn't mean to yell at you in lunch. She just has a lot on her mind. Please don't hold it against her," she said very timidly.
"I've forgiven her, I just wished she hadn't yelled at me. Thank you for trying to help."
"You're welcome. Bye!" Her eyes lit up slightly.
When I looked back to where I was going, Corbyn was standing there. He looked concerned.
"You ready to go?" He asked.
"Yeah."

Skip the 15 minute ride home

I said, "Thank you. What time will you pick me up tomorrow?" as I was getting out of the midnight blue truck.
"Probably around 7:30. Is that okay?"
"Yeah, that's fine. Bye."
"Bye."
He watched me as I walked all the way up to the door.

Corbyn's POV:::

I hate seeing her like that. I know Blair didn't mean it, but he didn't have to be so harsh. She really hurt Veronica.
