Amari's been avoiding me, I can tell, but I don't know why. Even faint exchanges don't happen, just tension that won't go away.

I don't think she knows I've noticed the notes, the small pieces of paper falling since Monday morning. She's gotten more distant from almost everyone since they started, except Wyatt who seems to be like an Amari whisperer. Are they from Lexi? Would Lexi go that far? I'm still not sure what exactly Amari's done to deserve this. What do the notes say?

I go to my locker and once opened a brown file falls out of it. Weird.

I open the file and see eight student identifications and seven news reports. I quickly shuttle the file with my body so no one else can see since it's so mysterious, almost like in one of those creepy spy movies.

The student identifications are all registered under different names at different schools, but the pictures attached are all her. It's Amari in each one, she gets progressively older, but it's definitely her. Kuiper, Juniper, Rowan, Revan, Skye, Jade, Scarlet and Amari in order. They all have the last name Blair like Amari's too. Why does her first name change with each school? Why has she been to so many different schools?

Next are the news reports. They all tell of high school students that died unexpectedly. Some stayed unsolved while others were docked as cardiac arrest. They all have the same depiction of events though; a lifeless body found without injury or robbery. No motives or apparent causes. I remember hearing about some of these in the past years.

Then I look closer at the dates, Amari was at all of these schools at the time of the deaths. It has to be coincidence, right? The odd thing is that after each of these deaths she moved schools; in some cases weeks after, in a few just mere days. A death of a tenth grader on the east side of the city was on May 12th, 2016, then on May 16th Amari was enrolled in a new school with the name Jade Blair according to the file. Why would she moves schools and change names? Why does she just happen to be at each of the schools?

Could Amari have killed them?

That's insane, right? That's impossible. She's shy and innocent; this is incapable for her. Amari couldn't have done this.

Who put this in my locker? Who thinks I need this information and where did they get it? It has to be Lexi; she's had something out for Amari since those notes which also have to be her doing. She would also have access to the student information because her dad is the principal of a different school.

I take note of one reports and a mountain of guilt swells in my stomach making me want to throw up. This is why. It explains everything.

This has to be real, Lexi wouldn't lie about this. But Amari? She couldn't have done this, it must be a consequence. But why did the deaths just happen to follow her? Why did she change her name?

Does she really think Amari is a killer?

... Is that even her name?

Lexi can't possibly know about me, there's no way. There's nothing connecting me to my past besides my last name and even that in itself is common enough not to raise questions. It can't be linked to me.

The only thing that could possibly lead to me is the first death. That man in the first day. I was seen killing him, but I'm so much older now that I'm unrecognizable.

I've never had to worry about this before. My main concern has always been avoiding incidents that may happen, not running from ones that already have. If not even the police question it anymore, how can she? It doesn't make any sense, she must be bluffing, but how does she know there's something to bluff about? I have to act normal, that what she wrote didn't get to me at all even if it's slowly killing me. That's the only thing I can do right now.
