Chapter 22

Third Person POV

"Hi there." Itona said rather serious as he approached the table with Nakamura.

Okuda turned to look at Karma, worried that he would have some rude expression on his face.

And much to her fear, he did.

"Oh gosh, Itona! It's been a while since I've last seen you!" Nagisa got up from his chair and gave Itona a welcoming hug. "It makes me so happy to have my old classmates here with me."

You see... why can't Karma be nice like Nagisa? Okuda thought to herself as Karma continued to have an annoyed look on his face.

Soon enough, the entire table was intrigued by Itona's presence, even Asano.

"Gotta admit though, I'm glad you've been well but I don't know how I feel about having to deal with another 3E weirdo."

Rio quickly slapped Asano's arm. "ANOTHER??? WEIRDO???? What exactly are you trying to say there asshole?"

The whole table erupted with laughter. Of course, except Karma and Manami.

She tried to let out a soft laugh, but it only came across as an awkward giggle.

Ugh... Karma is right. I suck at lying. But if he thinks I'm going to let this bad attitude slide, he's so wrong.

"Yo Karma, you haven't said anything to Itona since he sat at the table. Is something wrong?" Nagisa asked, completely clueless to the fact that he might've just triggered a bomb.

Karma smirked.

Oh no.

"Well you see–"

Manami quickly shoved the last piece of her sandwich into Karma's mouth.

"HAVE YOU GUYS HEARD OF THAT PARTY BEING HELD AT THE CAMPUS' EVENT HALL THIS FRIDAY?!?!"

Nakamura furrowed her brows in confusion. "I think I've seen some posters around but I'm not sure."

"Yeah me too! We should totally go you guys! It's our first college party!" Kaede continued.

Soon enough everyone began talking about the party, all attention drawn away from Karma.

Oof... that was close. I diffused the bomb.

However, it wasn't over yet.

Manami turned to Karma and pulled him off his chair.

"Come with me." She whispered angrily.

The couple walked out of the lunch room, taking advantage of the fact that the entire table was not paying attention to them.

"What is your issue?" She started. "He is one of us too, you know?!"

Karma rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Yeah, right. He is. But I don't know how I feel about A GUY who allowed A GIRL, nonetheless, A TAKEN girl, inside his house and allowed her to stay the night. Or should I say, nights."

"And how many times do I have to say that I wasn't alone with him?! I was basically spending the whole day with Bitch Sensei!"

"Not the nights though."

Manami sighed in frustration. "Listen here you– ugh. I will not tolerate jealousy especially if it's without reason! I already explained everything that happened, but you are the one letting your mind go to all these negative places!"
