"... What the actual fuck," I mumbled as I examined the almost empty fridge, "do these boys eat anything? At all?" I closed the fridge with a frustrated huff, whipping around straight into Edd. "Oh my gosh! Sorry!" I exclaimed, once again crashing into things, or in this case, a person.
"No no it's cool," Edd laughed, "you sounded frustrated so I came to scope out the situation." I twiddled my fingers nervously, I didn't wanna embarrass him in case it was a money issue.
"I uh, noticed there's not much food in the fridge," I said quietly.
"Yeah, we tend to kinda push off chores, we're supposed to do them together but Matt's forgetful, and Tom and Tors tend to just blow it off," he blushes as he scratches the back of his head, clearly a little embarrassed.
"Hey, it's alright. We can go grocery shopping right now really quick if you want. Besides, I kinda wanted to get some ice cream for the movie," I felt my face flush as I spoke, my lips turning to jelly. He smiles and nods, we head for the door and I slip my shoes on. Edd grabs the door handle, turning it with a light "click." We stroll outside, and I release a breath of satisfaction as the fresh air refills my lungs. We talked about ourselves a little bit as we made our way to the grocers, as we still are pretty new to each other.
When we got there, I grabbed a basket and started picking out some basic food stuffs. I threw in some eggs, milk, some cooking ingredients, and a small assortment packet of cheese. Walking around the store with Edd felt relaxing, but I stayed almost hyper aware of him and his actions, even the little gestures. He tossed in some more food before saying, "This looks about right, so let's go get you that ice cream." I agreed and we walked toward the coolers.
My eyes wandered over the many flavors that were available, easily picking out my favorite flavor, which was on the top. My fingers gently grasped the handle and pulled the cooler open, desperately reaching for the beautiful, scrumptious, precious cream that I desperately wanted to shovel into my mouth. Realizing that I wasn't tall enough, I sighed in defeat.
"Need a little help?" Edd asked quietly. Pressing his chest against my back, he reached up and took the cold treat into his hand. He backed up and dropped it into the basket. The feeling of him against me set my cheeks aflame, there's absolutely NO way that it was unintentional. I looked into his eyes, "Y-you ready to-to take this home?" Mentally screaming, Edd gives a sweet smile, "Yeah."
We ended up splitting the bill 50/50, and took our groceries home. When we finally got there, Edd took the groceries into the kitchen to put them away. I hesitantly followed, wanting to help. When entering, Edd immediately handed me my ice cream, "Bowls are above the microwave." I thanked him and started scooping myself a bowl when Tord came waltzing through the doorway.
"Woah, we having a party or something?" Tord questioned while eyeing the groceries that are seemingly out of place.
"What do you mean?" I asked as I turned to him, "it's groceries."
"Well duh, I'm just surprised because we normally don't buy that many groceries at a time." I furrowed my eyebrows and looked down at my ice cream before looking back to Tord.
"Dude, this is a small grocery run, how much food do you normally have in your house?" I shifted my weight as I analyzed his expression.
"Well, usually we have like, maybe three things in the fridge? I wouldn't know, we usually just get take out or something," he shoved his hands into his pockets as he eyed my ice cream. "Could I get some of that?"
I shrugged and retrieved the ice cream container back from the freezer, "Go nuts dude," I handed it over. He smiled and thanked me, scooping a bowl as I went to sit down at the couch where Tom was already waiting.
"Are we gonna watch this fucking movie or not?" He grumped, but was clearly not that frustrated now that our fridge was stocked.
"Yeah yeah you little blue goblin," I teased as I plopped myself down onto the cushions, snuggling into the back of the couch. He flashed me an irritated look, but his mouth creeped into a little smile.
"Oh shut it missy," Tom leaned back into the couch, relaxing a bit more. I laughed as the green hooded man came into the room, I scooted over and patted the seat next to me. His eyes seemed to sparkle a little and he sat down, scooting a little closer to me.
"MATT!" Tord yelled, "WE'RE GONNA WATCH A MOVIE, GET IN HERE!" A few seconds of silence passed before Matt shouted that he'd be down in a second. We heard a loud crash, and then caught sight of Matt tumbling down the stairs like a rag doll.
"Holy CRAP what a trip," Matt whimpered a bit as he dusted off his pants and fixed his hair a little before coming over to us and finding a place to sit. Tom grabbed the remote and started the movie, which everyone seemed to enjoy. As I put a spoonful of delicious, succulent, creamy cream into my mouth, a bit ended up on the corner of my mouth. Edd took notice and instinctively wiped it away with his soft thumb.
Realizing what he had just done, he stuttered quietly, "O-oh god I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking." His gaze was rapidly moving around my face, searching for any sign of disgust or discomfort.
I felt my cheeks heat up, gently setting my spoon back down into the bowl I felt fluttery. "It's alright, I actually kinda liked it," (F/N) YOU MORON, WHAT DID YOU SAY. Edd's face turned a sweet cherry color before whipping his head to face the television. I thought I had ruined it, destroyed the mood. But I was proved wrong when the brown eyed boy wrapped his hand around mine with his eyes glued to the screen.
