Chapter 5: A Foe To Rival The Gods

When Geralt wakes up he feels strange, like he has not eaten in weeks. "Uuueehgg what is this feeling?" Geralt slowly sits upwards and tries to stand up but collapses to the ground with the first step he takes. "Wha...what is happening?" "Witcher's always so confident in their...abilities." "Well said Sister, to me it looks like this hunter just lost it's prey." "Get.out.of.my.head!" "Ohoho dear dear Witcher, you have no idea what we will do next!" Geralt looks at Triss' bed side and sees a little bit of blood leading to the front door. "What have you done to her!?" "She will be of great use to us..Witcher." Geralt stands up and slowly walks to his equipment. "Triss.." Geralt collapses again and has difficulty standing up. "Ciri!" Ciri runs down and sees the blood and Geralt on his knees and hands. "What happened?!" "They...took Triss..." "The Crones!?" "Yes." "Come here let me help you up." Ciri helps Geralt stand and helps him walk outside. "Thank you, wake Suzianna we are finding Triss!" "Right away." Geralt sits down and shows concern on his face, a expression he never showed in his entire life. "I'm sorry Triss, i failed." Geralt stands up and walks for a bit before taking a look at the blood near the door. "This is Triss' blood, they hurt her!" Geralt suddenly smells the sent of a decomposing body behind his house and goes to check it out. "A body..drained of blood..could it be?" Ciri sees the body and Geralt and asks what he found. "A vampires meal, male around his 30's drained of blood." "It wasn't Suzianna if that is what you're thinking." "I have my suspicions about that but let's see what she has to say." Geralt walks into the house and sees Suzianna getting ready to go. "Suzianna we need to talk, we found a dead body behind the house drained of blood was that your work?" "What?! No of course not!" "Hmm let me check the area some more before accusing anyone." Geralt goes back outside and checks for footprints or any other clues that might lead him to the killer. "If it was a higher vampire i wont find any footprints but maybe i can find some clues on the body." Geralt looks at the body and notices two sets of bite prints in the neck. "Female teeth judging by the width of the jaw...and a red hair...no!" Geralt walks back inside and tells what he found. "I'm sorry for my suspicions of you Suzianna it is someone completely different!" "Who?" "The woman that took care of Chetty!" "She is a vampire right?" "How do you know?" "Chetty told me." Geralt tells Suzianna and Ciri to look for clues around the house of Triss' whereabouts while he goes into town. "What are you going to do?" "Something i should have done a long time ago"

Geralt gets on his horse and rides in to town to gather information on Orianna's whereabouts. "I think i saw Lady Orianna walking towards the old elven ruins she does so every evening so this is a bit early, but who am i to judge her schedule eh?" "Thank you sir I appreciate the help." "If i am allowed to ask, what are your intentions with Lady Orianna?" "That is my business only." "I understand." Geralt gets on Roach and rides to the swamps where Orianna should be.

When Geralt arrives at the ruins he sees Orianna standing by the old elven castle. "Nice tune." "Folk have forgotten it." "They have...other concerns." "Concerns like me?" "I saw what you did." "I thought you would...eventually." "I had hoped i didn't have to do this." "It is necessary wouldn't you say?" "(Sigh) i'm sorry." Geralt draws his silver sword and walks towards Orianna. "Tell me before you end my life, how is Chetty doing?" "He...he is well." "That is good to hear."

Geralt comes closer to Orianna and suddenly she fades away into the castle. "Goddamnit!" Geralt drinks a potion of Black Blood and walks into the castle. When he get's to the main hall he grabs a Moondust bomb and throws it at on the the chandelier's, when the bomb explodes he sees Orianna in her true form. Orianna attacks Geralt almost as fast as he can swing his sword after a couple of seconds of fighting she fades away again, suddenly a chair fly's in Geralt's direction before it can hit, Geralt casts Quen and shields himself from the impact then he hears slight growls coming from all over the throne room, then Orianna bites him in his neck and feeds from his blood, Orianna walks back and sees Geralt having a slight smile on his face, Orianna's insides begin to burn and her power's no longer work, Geralt pushes Orianna back with Aard and immediately stabs her trough the back, she gets back up but Geralt cuts of her arm and makes her flee, Geralt throws his sword aside and grabs his crossbow. "This is for the children!" Geralt shoots three bolts into Orianna's back before she falls to the ground and blows out her final breath, when Geralt goes to collect his trophy he collapses next to Orianna's body who still shed's one last tear.
