Chapter 5

Liam' s POV

The weekend's over and it's Monday morning. I rolled out of bed and trudged into the bathroom. I got dressed and walked down stairs and see Niall at the table eating breakfast. I walk  into the kitchen and seen my mum.

"Good Morning" I greeted and kiss her on the cheek and then start to grab food.

 "Morning Honey," she replys.

I sat down next to Niall and we chatted while we ate. After breakfast, we headed off to pick up Louis and Harry. We were all really close but Niall and I we closer and so was Harry and Louis. After picking them up we headed off to school. In car we talk about random things and Louis asked "Did you hear about the new kid?" We all shook our heads.

"His name is Zayn. Zayn Malik. He's the same year as us."

Once we got into school, we split up because we all had different first lesson. On the way to my first class of the day, I past the guidance counselor' s office and my guidance counselor stopped me.

"Hello Liam" he greeted.

"Hey Mr.Bennett"

"Have you met our new student?" He asks motioning to the person next to him. Zayn was about as tall as me. He was skinny but muscular. He had raven black hair and deep brown eyes. You could get lost in them. And don't get me started on his smile. I realized I was staring and replied "Uh y-yeah. I heard we were getting a student and you obviously are the new student." I said way too quickly. I tried to just laugh it off. I think he bought it.

"Well Mr.Payne, I checked your schedule and I seen you and Zayn had a few classes together and I was hoping you could show him around school today."

"Sure. No problem." I replied. Zayn seems cool and relaxed. I think Niall will like him.

"Great! I will give you a note to the classes you're not in together so you can show him where to go." He went into his office leaving me and Zayn alone. It was getting kind of awkward so I spoke up.

"Can I see your schedule to see what classes we have together?"

"Yeah, sure" He dug a piece of paper out of his pocket, unfolded it and handed it to me. I skimmed over it and told him "It looks like all your teachers are pretty cool expect Mrs. Evans who is pretty tuff and Mr. Scott who is kind of creepy."

"Thanks."

I looked back at the paper and notice his lunch."Oh, and we have the same lunch so do you want to hang with the lads and I?"

"Sure. Thanks mate." After that, Mr. Bennett came back with the note. "Here you go. Now you boys get to class."

"Okay. Bye Mr.B" I said and the turned to Zayn and asked "Ready?" He nodded and we walked off to class. 

The first half of the day passed by quickly and it was time for lunch. We went through the lunch line and then sat down at my usually table. Everyone was already there so I introduced Zayn. 

" Zayn, this is Harry, Louis and Niall. Guys, this is Zayn." They all murmured hey and we started eating. I was sitting next to Niall with Zayn on my other side and Harry and Louis across from me. Louis and Harry were having their own little conversation and I was talking to Niall and Zayn. While Niall had his mouth full, Zayn leaned in and whispered " They're dating, right?" Nodding to Harry and Louis. " No. They're just friends." Zayn chuckled and said "Whatever you say," and then started eating. For the rest of lunch, I was thinking about them. They were kind of cuddly, but not to the extent that they were dating. I had seen some signs before but I just shook it off. If they're are gay or bi or whatever, I could talk to them and they could help me see how Niall would react. I made a mental note to ask them later.

It was now the end of last period and Harry, Louis, and I were all the the same class. We all ride in Niall's car together, so they waited for me while I was taking extra long to get my stuff together.

"C'mon mate! You're taking forever." Harry groaned. I waited as the last person walked out of the room and followed them out of the classroom.

Mine and Harry's lockers are next to each other so walked in one direction (A/N Didn't even do that on purpose) while Louis went the other way. As we got to our locker and started swapping out things we needed and didn't, I decided to ask him. I thought for a moment and decided just to come out with it.

"Are you and Louis......you know......dating?"I looked at him. He was still facing his locker, but he completely froze and I could tell from the side that he was biting his lip. He looked up at me with a nervous look and as he was about to say something, Louis came up behind me.

"Y'guys ready to go?" he looked at me and then looked at Harry and his face fell. "What's wrong Haz?"

"He knows." Louis' eyes instantly widened

"He knows?" You can tell he's nervous. He's fidgeting with is fingers and he started tapping his heel waiting for Harry's response.

"Yeah" he nodded "He knows"

There was another moment of silence
