Will's POV

"Holy shit," I say when I see scars from where lines were carved into her skin but healed.

"Please don't stare at them," she begs me. As soon as she says that I look away from her scar and instead look into her beautiful blue eyes. I've never gotten a good look at her and let me just tell you, she is gorgeous. It's a shame she hides her face, I mean I understand why, but still sucks. She walks over to the bed and flops down on it.

"Do you want to sleep in here and I can sleep on the couch?" I ask her.

"Can we sleep in the same room?" She asks me but quickly adds," I will sleep on the floor." Hell no! She is not sleeping on the floor.

"You are not sleeping on the floor."

"William, it's fine. I've slept on the floor before."

"I don't care. You can sleep in my bed."

"Ok. God, I never thought I would be sleeping in the same bed as William Barnett."

"Ok...why do you say my name like that?"

"What do you mean? That's your name."

"I know that it's my name, but why do you say my last name? Why not just William or Will?"

"Well, if you haven't figured out yet. I'm nothing compared to you. God, you're like a celebrity to me. I'm still puzzled as to why you're helping me." Does she really think that low about herself? Did I do that? I mean sure, I had the help of Gav, the other kids at school, and not to mention that scumbag of a father, but I still feel like I've caused all of this.

"Bailey, stop saying that kind of shit about yourself. Do you realize that you're so much better than you think? Bailey, do not say that I'm better than you. I called you horrible names, but you still didn't say anything back. Granted, I don't like what you did instead," I say and grab her wrist looking at it, "you still didn't say anything bad back. That always pissed me off because even if I did the worst shit to you, you did nothing. I know I'm not the only one who hurt you, but I just want to tell you I am truly sorry for the things that I did to you." I hadn't realized it but at some time while I was talking she had started crying. "Please don't cry. God, I'm not good at this."

"Thank you, William, that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me," she said and hugged me.

"You're welcome Bailey, and please, call me Will."

"Thank you, Will," she mumbled and let out an adorable little yawn.

"Do you want to go ahead and get to bed?"

"Yeah," she said. Shortly after we get into bed and turn off the lights, I hear her quiet little snore and I fell asleep."

The next morning I woke up to my annoying alarm clock and felt something on my chest. I look down to see Bailey's head laying on my chest and her arm wrapped around me. I slowly get out of bed and start to get ready for school. I go downstairs to the kitchen, and I start to make breakfast. I get the pancake mix out and I started cooking them for Bailey and me. After I got done with breakfast, I went upstairs and called Bailey's name and telling her to get dressed. What I didn't expect was for her to start crying.

"Dad, I'm sorry. I'm getting up now please don't punish me. I'm sorry I didn't fix your breakfast," she said all this while sitting up and crying.
