Dance With Me?

Hannah's POV

"Dance with me?" Zach Dempsey asked, stretching out his hand. I raised an eyebrow, we broke up a month and I thought he had a girlfriend.

Nonetheless, I took his hand and let him bring me to the dance floor. It was a 'Back to School' dance and I was just sitting on the stands like the loner I am.

"Why are you doing this? What about Katie?" I asked as I danced with him. A slow song was playing right now. The one Clay and I danced to last year, must explain why Clay was staring at us.

"Fuck Katie. I don't even like her. I love you." he said, slurring his words a bit. He loves me?  Suddenly, he leaned in but I pushed him away.

"You're drunk." He smelled of beer and was as red as a tomato.

"I'm honest." He argued, pouting like a toddler, making me giggle. As much as I wanted to believe what he said was true. It wasn't. He was intoxicated.

"Zach, stop. This isn't real." I said after he tried to kiss me again. I still liked him. But if it's not real then what's the point? I would have to fall for him all over again. Just like that summer.

"It's as real as can be."

"You know what? I'm taking you home. Keys, please?" I asked before he handed me his car keys. I smiled proudly and brought him to his car.

I pushed him down to the passenger's seat and plopped down on the driver's. I knew where he lived so I didn't need to ask. We hooked up there once, his mom was on a buisness trip.

"Hannah?" Zach asked, reaching for my hand. I slapped it away.

  "I'm concentrating." I said. I don't have a driver's license and I've only practiced a few times before.

He never said a word again and slid down in his seat. I stole a few glances. He started to fall asleep. It was adorable.

We arrived his house in minutes and thankfully, there was no car in the driveway.

"Psst. Zach. Wake up." I said, poking him in the ribs. He immediately woke up. Believe it or not, he was a light sleeper.

He groaned as I dragged him to his room. I was about to leave when he said, "Hannah. Please. Please stay."

I stopped right away and turned around, he moved a little to his right side, his side, motioning for me to get in.

This was a risk. His mom could be home any minute now. But I uncomfortably slide in, going to attempt to leave when he falls asleep.

I didn't want us to hook up. I didn't want to take advantage of him. This moment is simply too special for it to be ruined by something as wrong as sex.

I breathed in his scent and started to get more comfortable. He put his arm around me and dozed off.

I couldn't get out. The weight of his arms were too heavy.

So I just closed my eyes and fell asleep.
