"Psst, May." I whispered to her. She woke up, "Yeah?" She asked.

We were in a blanket fort, the typical way we would spend our Sunday nights.

"I need to tell you a secret." I said, wanting to get it off my chest.

She nodded.

"Don't tell anyone okay? Not even mom." I told her. "I never tell mom anything anyways." She shrugged.

"I have a girlfriend." I said, and just like that, she squealed, "Finally!"

"What's her name?" She asked.

"Hannah Baker." I told her.

"Is she pretty?" She asked in amazement.

"The prettiest." I told her.

"Even prettier than me?" She asked, batting her eyelashes. I nodded.

"That's almost impossible. You're a lucky man." She complimented.

"Thanks?" I said, not quite sure of what else to say.

"Have you had sex with her yet?" She asked as I widened my eyes.

"Holy shit. Er...no?" I Iied.

"So you have had sex with her!" She exclaimed.

"Not so loud." I whispered.

"Aha! Busted!" She whispered, bursting into a fit of giggles.

"I did not!" I lied again. "I know when you lie, Zach, you look around, not looking in the eyes of your victim." She said.

"You're too young to know this stuff." I told her.

"My teacher told me not to have sex or you'll get pregnant and die." She told me, looking quite pleased at her 'knowledge'.

"When I was your age, I was learning how to solve linear equations!" I exclaimed as she stuck her tongue out.

"Wait so are you pregnant?" She asked, worry visible in her eyes.

"What? No!" I exclaimed.

"Are you going to die?" She asked.

"1) Your teacher is lying. But still don't have sex. And 2) You are way too young to learn about this stuff." I said.

"Zach and Hannah lying on a tree S E X X I N G!" She sang.

"Alright, go back to sleep." I told her, tucking her in.
