Shawn came into the car and directly for my lips. It seemed easy for him, just to kiss me nonstop wherever, all the time since the first time a few hours before. Perry pretended not to see us and just stopped the car, getting out and opening my door for us to get out already and grab the lunch Shawn reserved for us.
But then I saw the beach.
"It's so beautiful" I smiled, petting Shawn's fingers intertwined with mine.
"And you have never swum" he joked, pulling me forward to the sand.
"No" I laughed, as he took off his T-shirt
"Oh yeah."
"I don't know how to!"
"I'll teach you," he pulled off his pants, and ran a bit away, "come on" he stretched his arms, asking me to join him. One of his bodyguards holding the clothes he threw to them. I looked back to a waiting Perry. He nodded, entertained by my hesitation. I quickly took off the white dress I wore over my bathing suit because we planned to swim, but after eating. Perry rushed to my side and took the dress, but he also looked concerned, protective. Shawn's hands were on his head as if startled. I ran into the water, noticing the fuzz was about me being in a relatively small two piece.
"It's warm!" I laughed when he reached me. I noticed he tried very hard not to look at anything but my face. "You okay?"
"Yeah" he nodded, shaking his head. "I'm sorry, I'm just" he spun his hands around his head and came in closer. "I'm an idiot around you." He laughed. "You are so incredibly gorgeous." He looked down and closed his eyes, laughing, incredibly ashamed. "Okay, swimming, lesson one!" He reached for one of my hands and started to explain. And suffered through the bits when I would lay over his arms. I saw it on his face, still fighting not to look at me like the piece of meat the photographers of the two campaigns I had shot did. There were many coming up next week and that scared me. See: the reason why Perry was now to be with me at all times.
Shawn got over my almost naked presence and managed to teach me to swim. And to kiss me again. So many times the bodyguards probably evaluated the possibility of sitting down. Suddenly a small group of girls started approaching us, and Shawn suggested we leave the water. He briefly stopped to take pictures with them once Perry got me and covered me. We walked towards the restaurant, and Shawn caught up, holding my hand again.
"It's always better to stop and talk to them" he excused himself.
"You've said that twice" I laughed
"Yeah but I mean I don't want them to bother you" he looked at me intently and came in closer. Our private spot oversaw the entire beach. "I don't want them to scare you away. They have had. Mean comments on social media, bullshit campaigns... I don't want anyone hurting you" He petted my face "I also don't want you to see me as a problem" I frowned at that "how did you sleep?"
Now that question made me laugh so hard we almost spit our food together.
He tried so hard to be caring and gentle.
"I got this party at some friends' ... nothing fancy, they are school friends attending uni here... and... I gotta travel back to Europe tomorrow for a couple of concerts and... would you come with me today? I don't wanna wait to see you again until next weekend—"
"Is it okay? Traveling back and forth—?" He kissed me, interrupting my words.
I had kissed someone for the first time just the night before, and that person was Shawn. I wished we didn't have ever to stop. To always feel his warmth over me, to have his deep scent running over my face nonstop. I dared and ran my fingers through his hair. He shuddered a little.
