Quantum 2
Prologue
I thought I was done with this place... Why am I still here? I look around, and it seems empty. Though... I feel like someone is watching me... I pull out my crossbow, and I hear a deep laugh ringing through the darkness. "That stupid thing won't help you anymore," as it flew out of my hands. I stared as it flew through the air, and yelled "Hey!" As the laughing continued. I turned around and was struck across the face with great power. I flew back, hitting the nonexistent ground. I was sprawled across the floor, and I heard muffled shouting. "Wake up!" I open my eyes as I look around the barren wasteland I am now in. My body hurts everywhere I can move... I start to look at my own body, and notice nothing seems wrong. Though we are in the middle of a deserted field. I looked up and noticed... Oh great. It's Crystal. I weakly say "Hey." She starts to hug me. I don't hug back. I say, "C'mon get off of me. We gotta find the group." She looks back at me. "Yeah, about that. I looked all over Jax, they aren't here." I stare back for one second, before looking away. "Help me up, please." She grabs my hand, and pulls me into a hug-stand. She asks, "Where do we go?" I look at her and say, "Forward I guess. It's the only way we can go, there are zombies back that way." Then forward we went, not saying much besides the occasional "Do you think you can walk by yourself yet?" We make our way across the field and eventually find a small village.
Chapter 1
Reunited
After we affiliated ourselves with the survivor camp, I decided to set up camp here. I started to work on my newest project. I call it: The Memory Machine. MM for short. I had just started tweaking it when I heard of some newcomers in the village. It peaked my curiosity, though I needed a little more time to work. I ended out camping out in a small hut in the village, while Crystal went to another hut with some of her old friends. I tried to sleep, but I couldn't stop thinking. Was he still alive? Why did I see him again? What could this all mean? I was too scared to sleep, with the thought that I would go... there again. I barely got a wink of sleep before I heard a familiar voice shout "Stabilize him!" I took my potion and ran to the hut where the patients were held. Who else was in the bed besides... Inferno. I ran to the cabinet and grabbed a syringe, dipping it in the potion. I then injected it into Inferno, and the wounds began to clear up. I poured the liquid on Calamity as well, and he could walk again. I looked around and everyone was staring at me like the true leader I was. I asked, "Are you alright?" He just stared off. "Are you okay?" I ask. He responds with a weak, "Yeah, I'm fine." He looked at his leg and asked "How?" "It's a long story," I responded. 2 months had passed since that day. I happily accepted the position of lead scientist, Inferno took to the scout troop, and Calamity became general of the guard. Inferno had left for a scouting mission, and I was working on the MM when it happened.
Chapter 2
The Disaster
I heard screaming and growling. I knew exactly what this was. Zombies were attacking the village. I grabbed my crossbow off my desk, and attached an explosion potion, (As I like to call it) to the arrow. I lifted up my goggles and buttoned up my coat, then ran outside toward the village. When I got there, the zombies were approaching the village-folk. I saw Calamity holding them off in the center of town, though they were starting to rise in numbers. I leapt into action, my friend clearly needing my help. I shot the arrow right into a zombies chest, and BOOM! Zombie pieces everywhere. There were alot more coming, though.
Chapter 3
The War of the Village
Inferno and the rest of the scouts had returned to a barren and burned down town. I know this, because as we started heading out north. I reminded Calamity to walkie Inferno. After he gave Inferno the info, He turned to me and said, "You need to work on a cure, Pronto!" I reply with, "I'll work on it later. We need to keep moving." We went through a field, and ran into one obstacle. A zombie horde. Inferno and the scouts had arrived to the battle just in time. I yelled "WAR!" Everyone ran at the zombies. I had just been able to get my crossbow before a zombie rushed toward me, and tried to bite me. I had just dodged it and stabbed him with one of my spare arrows, whilst throwing an explosion potion in the direction of the zombies. BOOM! Tons of zombies in the horde exploded into millions of gross chunks all over the place. I ran toward Calamity wielding double an 94's. "Hey man." I say. "Hey, man." He says before firing at a nearby zombie. I look up, "You know, the sky is starting to turn red." As I look down my crossbow starts to wrap itself in vines. All of the sudden, Calamity's AN's supercharged and fired at three times the rate! I look up, and see that the sky is starting to distort. I shout, "Do you see that?" We all look up. The sky was-
