City lights twinkle
Dreamlike hues colour the skies
Eyes for others to find
Empty, empty mindsVows lost in cigarette smoke,
Paper confetti falls to the ground
Sullen
Puddles of the undoneHollow white skulls
Chattering
Tears and vodka
Stuck in unsuspected trancesRavaged by unforgiving faiths
Two faces and forked tongues
Undressed by unfamiliar stares
Choking with diseaseCrayon smiles
Dreams smouldering in the fire of hope
Waves of scathing heat, scathing hurt
Ever playing tunes of damnationLabyrinth of chaos
A circle of hellfire
Strait jackets of confusion
Cursed blades of the shadowsMerciless shouting
Incessant crying
Subliminal insanity
Hysterical whisperingPariahs on every street
Gazing
Attempting to decipher the maze
Bitter sweetCoarse bleached hair
Golden flecks decimate
Ghosts of smiles long gone
Shadows turned to dustWhirlwind movement
A ticket and a buck
Smokescreen
Fading in and outFog and smog all the same
Struggling for fifteen minutes of fame
Struggling for a meal
Struggling not to feel
