Chapter Three
I see her smile and I sink lower into the floor knowing that that smile was not for me.
I lowered my head only because I knew I was but a mere shadow in the darkness.
The only thing I didn't see was her-tears-as-I-walked-by.
I didn't even notice
Because...
I forgot how brave she could be.
