**Emma’s POV**

“What did your mom say to get?” Louis asks me as we walk down the aisles in the grocery store. I honestly don’t know, so I just shrug and continue to look at the labels in front of me. I grab some frozen appetizers that seem decent enough and throw them into the shopping cart.

Suddenly I don’t hear Lou’s feet shuffling behind me anymore, so I turn around. Of course he’s not there. I let out a deep breath and put my hands on my hips. “Louis William Tomlinson, if you aren’t here in three seconds, I’m leaving.” I say loudly, causing an elderly woman beside me to glance up and look at me.

“You must have a troublemaker on your hands, huh?” She says with a smile and I smile back.

“Yeah, something like that.” I tell her, then she smiles again, this time sympathetically, and walks into the next aisle. “Louis?” I call out again, leaving the cart for a second to peek around the corner. Nothing. I start to turn back to the cart when, out of nowhere, I’m being thrown into the air. I hear Louis’ playful laugh right before I’m turned upside-down. He tosses me over his shoulder and starts walking down the aisle, ignoring my kicks and screams. He spins in a big circle and holds onto my legs tightly. I know exactly what will stop him...

I reach my arms out and try to remain balanced on his shoulder, then I smack his ass with as much power as I can manage while the blood continues to rush to my head. To my satisfaction, it works and Louis yelps loudly, then flips me back over so he’s holding me in his arms. He places me gently into our shopping cart so my legs are hanging off the front. I laugh and make myself more comfortable in the metal basket, then look up at his tan face.

“You better be on sale, I don’t feel like paying extra tonight.” He says with a wink, reaching behind him to grab a soup can on the shelf. He looks around and peels the price tag off slowly, then presses it to my forehead. I stick my tongue out at him but leave the sticker on my head. Louis laughs loudly and starts pushing the cart in the direction of the cash registers. I can’t keep my eyes off his face while he walks.

He doesn’t see me staring again, so I take this as a perfect opportunity to admire him. He has a small smile on his thin lips, and I can just barely see his white teeth underneath. His eyes are extra blue today, making him even more irresistible. I move my eyes down and look at his muscular hands on the handle bar of the cart. The fingers on the left hand are lightly tapping on the plastic bar and it’s mesmerizing to watch. He hits four fingers down once, then three times, and one more again. He keeps the rhythm the entire time he walks and it’s almost soothing to listen to. I let him push the cart to one of the cashiers, who eyes us suspiciously. Louis gives her a strange look and then follows her gaze down to me in the cart. I smile and look up expectantly at them. Louis ruffles my hair and looks back at the girl.

“What? She was on sale.” He says and I can’t contain my hysterical laughter. The girl rolls her eyes and proceeds to scan the few items I managed to put into the cart. Lou pays her and pushes the cart out of the store, into the parking lot. Right as we get outside, rain pours onto us. I squeal and try to cover myself while Louis laughs. He runs, still pushing me in the cart, and screams over the rain. In seconds we’re at his car and I quickly climb out of the cart with my bags and sit in the passenger seat. Louis follows quickly behind and sits on his side. “You good?” He asks breathlessly and I nod. He smiles and starts the car, then drives out of the parking lot. He puts his hand on the back of my neck and I shiver under his touch, but I absolutely don’t pull away.
