 **Louis’ POV**

When we finally get back to my flat, it’s a full on thunderstorm. Lightning is flashing every three seconds and the rain is flying in all directions. I park my car in front of the building and hurry out, opening the door for Emma. I grab her hand and we run quickly into the flat. Emma’s laughing behind me and eventually we make it into my living room. We’re both soaked, and Emma is shivering a little, so I jog into my bedroom and grab a big blanket. When I come back out to her, I wrap it around her and hold her close to warm her up. She smiles gratefully at me and leans her head on my chest. Absentmindedly, I kiss the top of her head and run my fingers through her soft, blonde hair.

“Thanks, Boo.” She mumbles into my damp shirt.

“Mhmm..” I sigh and release her from my arms.

“Do you mind if I take a quick shower? I’m sort of drenched in cold water..” She asks with a little laugh.

“Oh sure, you know where it is.” I point down the hall and Emma smiles at me, then walks away. Once she closes the door to the bathroom, I let out the frustrated groan I’ve been holding in for the past five minutes. “Dammit.” I mutter under my breath. I collapse onto the couch and shake my hands through my wet hair, then rub them over my eyes.

It’s quiet for a second, other than the raging storm outside, and I listen for the sound of my shower. I can hear Emma singing something over the sound of the water, making me smile to myself. I stand up and walk to the big windows on the other side of the living room. The storm is definitely not letting up. If anything, it’s only gotten worse. Everything is dark and blurred by the sheets of rain, but I can tell it’s not safe for driving.

“Lou?” I hear Emma’s voice behind me, so I turn around quickly. She's standing a foot away, dressed in Hollister sweat pants and a striped t-shirt. My eyes suddenly do a double take. Are those my—? “Oh sorry, I borrowed some clothes and threw mine in the dryer. I hope you don’t mind.” Emma says, shaking her wet hair to the side and twirling it around her hand. Shit, she looks good. I never thought any girl could look that good in sweats, but I was wrong. Crap, did she just say something to me? I clear my throat.

“Uh, yeah, of course. But I don’t think we should be driving tonight. You want to just stay here for the night?” I ask her nervously. Why am I shaking so badly right now? Emma’s slept here thousands of times before, why is this any different? Oh right, because I’m in love with her and she’s wearing my clothes while dripping wet.

She smiles and nods her head in agreement. “Sure, thanks, bud.” She says and kisses my cheek quickly.

“No problem. You can crash in my bed, I’ll sleep on the couch.” I tell her. I swear I just saw her smile drop a little bit. Is she upset about something? Before I can even think about that any longer, Emma’s smile returns and she starts backing up.

“Alright, well I’m just going to go to sleep now, then. Goodnight, Boo Bear.” She turns around and I watch her walk down the hallway and into my room, shutting the door slowly behind her. I huff and slap my face a few times in an attempt to calm down. It doesn’t work, so I lay face first on the couch and close my eyes. Maybe I can just sleep all this off…
