As they kept running through the forest, they came to an opening between the trees George ran through the gap before pausing and catching his breath with his hands on his knees. Oliver also soon went through the gap and stopped also just missing crashing into George before walking to the side of him and putting his hands on his hips, catching his breath also.
Infront of them was an open field with a large lake in middle of it, the sun causing the water to glisten and look like a sapphire. As George looked at the view, he gasped as his eyes sparkled in awe as his jaw loosely hung open. Oliver's eyes glistened in wonder as he grinned filled with amazement.
"This is a wonderful find."
George happily said after finally getting his breath back.
"It sure is."
Agreed Oliver as he lightly elbowed George's arm which made him look down at him before giggling a bit. Placing his finger and thumb on his chin, Oliver started to walk as he scanned the scenery.
"Now I wish I brought my art stuff."
Complained Oliver softly as disappointment showed on his face which was now back to it's normal colour. Gently, Oliver patted George who was now looking down at the river.
"Yeah?"
Asked George, staring off.
"Why don't we go further down?"
Asked Oliver as he started to walk, looking at George as he did so.
"Sure thing."
George agreed as he started to walk also as he looked down at Oliver with a smile. The grass was fairly long, reaching up to the knees of Oliver and the bottom part of George's leg but it was a vibrant green colour the fresh wet grass scent blowing in the breeze. Faint tweeting of distant birds could be heard in the clear blue sky.
"This is like a dream place. Don't ya think?"
Said Oliver, looking up at George who looked back at the view with a happy expression.
"Yeah."
Agreed George happily.
Once they reached near the lake the grass was oddly shorter, they stopped and sat down on the grass dispite it being wet.
They spent hours besides the lake talking to eachother. Oliver would go on about his paintings that he could create whilst George would randomly go on about how the scenery was very picturesque and a great place to paint.
The golden sun turned orange as it started to set as the duo decided to get further as Oliver stood back up and held his side as a pain shot there.
"You okay brother?"
Worriedly asked George, standing up also as he looked over at Oliver who wore a slight pained expression on his face.
"Brother?"
Asked George again as his ears went down, noticing Oliver was staying silent and looking away from him.
Scanning the area, Oliver noticed a large collection of trees as he started to lightly cough. He let out a slight growl of irritation before he started to head towards the trees.
"Where you going brother?"
Questioned George with worry on his face that matched his tone as his tail hung low, watching his brother hastily walk off.
"Home. Something ain't right and I ain't walking back up there."
Mumbled Oliver not slowing down his fast walking pace as he let go of his rib and placed his hand over his mouth as he coughed again with George just managing to catch up to him.
"This is the longer way back Oliver."
George said in worry as Oliver stopped coughing and looked over at George with annoyance on his face mixed with pain.
"I don't care."
Snapped Oliver, holding the bottom right of his ribcage again and entering the forest.
Nervously, George followed closely behind as the setting sun made the bare trees seem unwelcoming.
