"I absolutely failed that test." I moaned as I jumped into my bed. "Why the heck would I need to know how to measure a freaking triangle in the real world?" I sighed and started taking my homework out of my bag. A envelope fell out of my notebook and landed on the floor. "Why is there an envelope in my- shoot! How do you forget your crush's birthday party!" I quickly put on a simple and cute green dress. I ran to the bathroom and almost tripped, the dress was really long. I couldn't run in it. I applied some lip gloss and foundation. I looked at myself in the mirror, nodded in approval, and walked downstairs.

My mom was asleep, she was surrounded by crumbs and candy rappers.

At least I know she got up and is getting nutrients. Even if it's just from cookies and candy. I grabbed an umbrella on my way out of the house. Goldie's house was a quick bus drive away, so I should make it on time. This party was going to be great!

•••

This party is the opposite of great. Just by standing outside I could tell this party has way more then just a couple of guests. Why the hell is there so much freaking people? I cautiously walked inside to see if I could find Goldie.

The party was full of people. It looked like the entire grade had come to celebrate. Everyone was talking and playing party games. I even so a few cute guys playing spin the bottle. There was a few people with drinks in there hand. Hopefully nothing with alcohol.

I found Goldie in her kitchen talking to a tall dude with dirty blond hair. She smiled when she saw me which caused butterflies in my stomach to form.

"Jasmine, I'm so glad you could make it! I'm glad you already put your present on the table, thanks!"

The dirty blond haired guy kept on looking at me with an annoyed look. I glared at him back, then I focused my attention on Goldie.

"No problem, this party seems a little bigger then a few people though. You must have a lot of friends." I said.

Goldie laughed and rubbed her temples. "I wish. I don't know half the people here! Word must have got out about the party, the entire 11th grade showed up!

Before I could answer the blond haired guy stepped into the conversation. "It does give people the chance to meet more friends though. If I hadn't heard about this party, I would have never had met Marigold."

I ignored him, obviously I was bothering him for taking up Goldie's time. If he cared enough he would know more about her, he would know she hates being called Marigold.

"So, Marigold-" He started.

"Just call me Goldie," she interrupted and turned toward him.

"Goldie, I got you this for your birthday, I wanted to give it to you personally." He pulled out a small wrapped gift from his jacket pocket and handed it to Goldie.

I'm an idiot. I didn't bring a freaking gift!

She opened the small box and pulled out a small silver bracelet. It had small charms on it. She looked at it in surprise and didn't say anything.

Please don't like it. Please don't like it. I wished.

"Oh my gosh! Peter, I love it!" Goldie smiled and slipped on the bracelet. "It's gorgeous!" She went to hug Peter as I stood across from them in absolute horror.

I stormed off to the bathroom while mumbling to myself in anger. I quickly locked the door and started thinking. What would Goldie want as the best gift ever. I stood in the washroom until I had the perfect idea. I snapped my fingers and a gift bag appeared in front of me. Perfect.
