Victor and I are walking down the street, hands interlocking. He is all I ever think about now. My brain nonstop is Victor, Victor, Victor. The time we first met feels like years ago and it's hard to believe it's only been a month.
As we are walking down the street I see a man, only about a foot away from me, looking deathly ill. He has black spots covered across his skin that appear to be dripping blood and oozing pus. I gag as Victor quickly pulls me away from the man.
"We can risk being near them," Victor warns. Seeing those people, the ones infected makes me not only sad, but scared.
Victor walks me to my home and kisses me goodbye.
"Stay safe," he says "I can't lose you,"
"I will; I love you"
"I love you too," he says
And then he leaves.
A couple days pass and I wake up in the middle of the night, coughing and feeling extremely ill. I look down and realize I'm coughing up blood. I also realize how cold I am, yet the windows are shut.
Quickly, the thought flashes through my head.
"It can't be" I tell myself.
I look down at my skin and notice black bumps across my skin.
