Part 17

Not even a slight part of Kamden thought that he would be getting a call from Addison just minutes after they had departed but, that is indeed what happened. Now Alex and himself were on the way to Addisons house, she said something about a broken window, maybe it was a door? She was hysterical and said there was blood-possibly blood, people tended to see stuff that wasn't there, when they panicked. So pretty much they were delusional and hallucinated.

Alex coughed, "So what's the details?"

As far as he could tell, Alex was a good police officer, a rookie but that's exactly why Kam had chose him to help him with this case. The worst ones were secretly always the best ones, not that Alex was the worst rookie, he was actually pretty good.He was quick on his feet and was friendly but not overly friendly and he was smart but didnt act like the know-it-all that Kam knew he was. Alex was easily the smartest out of the D-4 rookies but he was humble and never made anyone else feel dumb or out of place.

"The details." he repeated,"Are simple yet the exact opposite, Addisons daughter was kidnapped a while back-some new leads have been uncovered and have come to all of our attentions so I was asked to come and continue the search for Joy, Addisons daughter. As long as I have been on this case." He sighed,"Only bad things have happened, many people have died already.. just because this case was opened back up and someone knows something, someone, somewhere, knows something and whoever is in charge is trying to scare them into staying quiet."

Alex nodded as he took a left turn onto Elm, "And so far they've done a good job keeping people quiet?"

"Yes"

"So, you mentioned that Addison lived alone, No husband?"

Truth be told,Kamden didn't know the whole story with Addison and her ex-husband, all he knew was that there were lots of issues after Joy had been kidnapped, a few guys from the force said that the guy was rude,abrasive and they sometimes wondered if he treated Addison well.

"I really don't know, I know they're divorced and that the marriage fell apart after Joy was kidnapped but i'm not sure if they're in contact still or not."

Alex clicked a button on his phone and the dial on the other end rang twice before someone picked u, "Lisa, can you do a run for me on an Addison Hart and her husband-" He glanced at Kam.

"Mark, I think."

"Sure, ill let you know what's up." She hung up and Alex glanced at Kam.

"Ive got a sick feeling about this."

"About what?"
"What she might find."

It took less then five minutes for Lisa to call Alex back and explain what she found out on the Harts.

"Get this, They werent married very long but in that small amount of marriage time, Addison went to the hospital several times for 'minor' things such as broken wrists, cracked wrist, a shoulder popped out of place, a concussion and stitches quite a few times." She pauses for a second,"She never went to the same hospital more then two times and each time she had an excuse, Excuses of which did check out. This is weird."

"What is it?" Kam asked.

"Police were actually accidentally called out to the house on several accounts two years ago, each time they showed up.. Addison claimed it was an accident and everything was fine, nothing seemed out of place until the fourth time they were called and when they showed up, Addison didn't answer the door like she usually did but her husband did, when the police asked to talk to her, Mark quickly said she wasnt available. They finally made it inside the house and found Addison on the stairs, her head had a big gash in it and her face and arms were all bruised, they tried to find Mark guilty of domestic violence but Addison claimed he never hit her."

"She was scared of him"Kam said.

"Probably terrified."Alex commented.
