"Ugh..." Chloe groaned as she flopped onto her and Beca's bed after a long day of study.
"How was it?" Beca asked, sitting on the bed and working on her mixes as usual.
"Long and tiring..."
"I'm sure you did well." Beca kept looking at her screen.
Chloe sat up and peered over her girlfriend's screen and looked at what she was doing.
"Have you done your assignment yet?" Chloe asked.
"What assignment?"
"The one for your English studies?"
"Oh, that. No, I haven't done much of that yet."
"How much have you done?"
"Ah... The title."
"Beca!" Chloe looked at her girlfriend horrified.
"What?"
"You know what! You can't just keep putting things off! Isn't it due next week?"
"Yeah, I'll get to it later."
"You say that and before you know it you're pumping out a two-thousand-word essay four hours before it's due!"
"And I've done it with success every time."
Chloe rolled her eyes. "That's not the point. You have to study hard."
"Why? It's not like I'm going to become an English professor."
"It's not about wanting to become an English professor. It's about doing well and ultimately, passing."
"It's just an elective, babe, don't worry."
"It's not just an elective, Beca!" Chloe snapped. "It's apart of your music degree that'll help you get the job that you want."
"Not this again..." Beca sighed with an eye roll.
"What?"
Beca looked up from her laptop screen and looked at Chloe.
"You always do this when it comes to my grades. You act like they're the most important things in the world when they're not!"
"Beca! If you don't pass you'll fail and if you fail you'll eventually get kicked out of Barden and you won't be apart of the Bellas! Does that mean nothing to you?"
"There you go again! Why do you always have to take it to the extreme?"
"Because it's the reality, Beca, whether you like it or not! It might take you ages before you become this big-shot music producer that you want to be so in the meantime you need to find a career that can support you until that happens. Having a degree will help you get the career that you want even if it's only temporary."
"I see where you're coming from, Chlo, but I've got a lot on my plate at the moment, okay?"
"A lot on your plate? Like what?"
"I have to make the next set for our performance next week."
"And that's it?"
"What do you mean that's it? That's a big responsibility I have!"
"Responsibility? You're kidding me, right?"
"Oh, like you're so busy," Beca said mockingly.
"Beca, I have four assignments due next week, I have to apply for vet school, which is a lengthy process, I have to teach one of my classes in two days, which the teacher is assessing and I have to get ninety percent or above to pass, and to top it off, I'm the one who has to come up with the choreography for our set! So, don't tell me that you've got a lot of responsibility."
"I do have a lot of responsibility! You just don't hear me complain about it every day."
"Are you being serious right now?" Chloe frowned.
"Do you see me wearing a joker mask? Of course, I'm being serious!"
"Beca, I love you but you have it WAY easier than I do."
"Me? That's easy for you to say, Miss Always Gets Good Grades Without Even Trying."
"That's because I actually work my butt off, unlike some people."
"Excuse me, but without me, the Bellas wouldn't be who they are today. If I hadn't taken over from Miss Up Her Ass Aubrey you'd all be a laughing stock of Barden! Making the Bellas what they are now took a lot of work and keeping them this way is a lot of work, too, and we all know that the Bellas is your life so, in a way, I saved your life."
"What!" Chloe shrieked with a shocked but amused smile. "You've got to be kidding me!"
"I'm not. Face it, Beale, you have it easier than me."
"You're so full of yourself. You have no idea what I go through on a day-to-day basis."
"Oh, I think I do. You just overdramatise it."
"We're done talking about this," Chloe got off the bed and stripped down to the nude where she went into the bathroom to have a shower while Beca continued to work on her own personal mixes.

Later that night, all of the Bellas were in the living room enjoying their pizza and movie night. Chloe and Beca were still a little angry at each other so they weren't exactly speaking and all of the Bellas could feel the tension in the air.
"Hey, Beca, do you think you could grab my drink for me? I left it on the kitchen bench," Stacie asked.
"You might want to ask someone else, Stace," Chloe said. "Beca's got a lot on her plate at the moment."
Beca rolled her eyes. "You're still on about that? Seriously, Chlo, just get over it."
"Don't tell me to get over it! You said that I have it easier than you when I don't. Just ask the Bellas who does more in this house and in general. Go on, ask them!"
Beca looked around at the Bellas who were all avoiding the brunette's gaze.
"See? They know that you're the one that has it easier. In fact, you've probably got it the easiest out of everyone here," Chloe stated matter-of-factly.
"What? You don't know that. Just because everyone doesn't talk about what they're doing doesn't mean that I have it easier than them. I have it WAY harder than the most of them!"
"Oh my God," Chloe laughed. "You're unbelievable."
"Me? What the Hell did I do?"
"You're so stubborn and you think that the world owes you something! You've always been that way and it drives me crazy sometimes! You need to get over yourself and take some responsibility in your life."
"That's easy for you to say! You don't know what I've gone through!"
"What? Your parents splitting up when you were a child?"
All of the Bellas gasped and looked at Beca wide-eyed. Chloe's face dropped when Beca's did.
"Shit... Becs," Chloe uttered.
"Don't," Beca got up and went to the stairs.
"Beca!" Chloe called out.
"No! If you think that I have it easier then maybe you should be me then. It's a total walk in the park." With that, Beca turned on her heel and left Chloe and the Bellas as she made her way upstairs.
