Chapter 1- School Sucks.

*Ember's POV*

I walk through the front doors of the worst place ever. School. Even Ava hated school; and she's always peppy and happy. She's a cheerleader, that's mainly why. Her coach doesn't like them to be a "bad example". Even though her coach is rarely around.

How I know all these things is because Ava tells me everything. I'm like her safe. She tells me a bunch of secrets and I keep them... unless she wants me to tell someone. Then I'll tell them.

I get to my locker that's between Ava and Jades. Ava is standing at her locker getting books ready and everything for class.

"Hey girly." I smile to her. "Hey!" She chirps. We talk for a couple minutes then Niall walks in and goes to his locker next to Ava's. Ava likes Niall but I'm the only one who knows. Their parents own half the city together. She smiles at him as he walks by but he doesn't notice cos he's looking at the ground.

Niall tries not to look at people when he's at school cos he gets bullied enough already. Ava hates it when people bully him.

One time a kid pulled down his pants and then hit him where if he wants to have kids later in life.... kinda needs it. Anyway, Ava saw what happened and he started to cry so she cried too. He doesn't know that she cried over that though.

She turns and looks at Niall. He opens his locker still not noticing. Wow... he's oblivious to the world, isn't he? A few kids that bully Niall walk over to him. They start to hold Niall down and beat him up. Ava stares at him wide eyed. Well, this escalated quickly. "No!" She screams and Niall looks over to her. I walk over to them and slap the person beating Niall up.

"What the hell are you doing? Get a damn life. We all know the only reason you keep doing this crap is cos Niall's got a bigger one than you. Get over it!" I say then everyone in the hallway laughs at what I said.

They get sent to the principles office then Ava looks down at Niall tearing up. Oh god... she better not be about to cry. She helps him up then blushes. The principle comes by and asks us to take Niall to the nurse. Anything to get out of class.

We get to the nurse and wait there awkwardly. I notice that Ava is just staring at Niall. Oh my god. She is so obvious that she likes him. Niall finally looks over at us and whispers, "T-thanks." "No problem bab-.... Niall." Ava says. Haha. I turn around so I can laugh without them seeing. She almost called him babe. Oh, her face was priceless.

I turn around and see them both blushing. He knows what she almost called him.

The nurse comes out and says that we can't stay. "You girls are the only witnesses that we know of. You need to give a statement to the principal, please." I roll my eyes then drag Ava out of the room with me. She walks really really slow so she can hear what they're saying.

"Niall, where did they hit you?" We don't hear him say anything. Then the nurse says, "Okay. I'm not trying to be weird or anything but, can you take your shirt off so I can check the bruises?" Ava stops in her tracks wide eyed. We hear a piece of clothing being taken off. All of a sudden, Ava just falls. Wow... she has it so bad for him, I swear.

But, then again, Niall is pretty cute. I would never go out with him though. I'm dating Louis anyway.

We get to the principals office and give the statement then go back to class. Social Studies..... time to take a nap.
