I locked my phone and knelt down to tie my shoelaces. To be really honest, i didn't want to see Brooklyn. It's not that i don't love her or that i don't miss her, but things have changed since high school. Let's start with me ; Celine Mae, 19, university student (who can barely afford tuition). Lives in an apartment in Paris with her mom & 3 older siblings. That might not sound so terrible, but i'm not talking about the spacious and luxurious apartments above the Chanel and Gucci stores. I'm talking about the estates that are hidden away in the urban areas of Paris that no one gets to see. Correction ; no one wants to see. The areas that are looked down upon, with more funding going towards the lights in the Eiffel tower than the housing projects. So to sum it up my life isn't all great. Then we have Brooklyn. Brooklyn used to live with her parents in one of Paris' most captivating houses. 3 floors of marble counters and chandeliers, with a garage full of elegant cars. She moved to London for university but is back home for the holidays and insisted on seeing me. I didn't want to say no, truth be told i did miss my best friend. She might be snobby at times but i needed a break from university - at my uni, you don't get a break for christmas. You submit endless essays and go to lectures with the worst type of people. I don't have one friend at my university, not even one. They're all really shitty people, like how Brooklyn would've been if she didn't go to a public school. Although she had everything handed to her in life she's still such a fun and charismatic person. She's also really sensitive and empathetic - not to mention we've been best friend since we were 14 so i'm used to her faults and flaws. The people in my uni environment just aren't like that at all - the only people i talk to other than my brothers and sisters are my work friends. Work seems to be the only break i can get these days because i actually get along with my co workers. But even then, work doesn't count as a break because i still have to - well, work ? Having a job in retail isn't exactly ideal for me but i wanna find my own place by the time i'm 20. I work at the LV store at the Champs-Elysées Avenue. The first thing that comes to mind when people hear "Louis Vuitton" is designer, high end and lavish, especially the one at Champs-Elysées Avenue! Therefore people assume the workers are all paid quite generously when in reality, being a teenager with little to no qualifications makes my income pretty shit. Even if i do work at LV. Some of my co-workers are my age and others are in there forties, but they're still better than the students at my university. Anyway if i want an apartment by next year i've just gotta focus on my priorities.
Consumed by my thoughts, I didn't even realise my phone was vibrating in my pocket. i took it out to find countless notifications from Brooklyn about how excited she is to see me. I can't help but smile, 'maybe it wont be so bad seeing her again.' one specific text caught my eye; Brook💘 : i'll text you the address incase you've forgotten x do you know how to get here? As hard as i tried to think, i couldn't remember the route for the life of me. The last time i went to her house was when i was about 15 and i had to take a bus or something. I can't take a bus to her house now! I'm a 19 year old with a licence. That would be beyond embarrassing! I'll have to take the car, but the GPS isn't working and i don't want to arrive late... it's either that or the bus.

guess who's back with a new book :) i wanted to make this one a lot more enjoyable for you guys. my first book, dependency, was quite good but i felt like the storyline wasn't really relatable - who can relate to living with neymar jr 😂 ? so i've decided to try hard on this one and i seriously hope you guys enjoy it x vote if you're liking it so far and why not leave a comment too ☺️
