My life continued this same way for the next two weeks. I completed each assignment given to me, Cameron took me to first period every morning, I entered second period right in time to complete my bell ringers daily, and Mr. Gaines enjoyed every single one. And I ran into the gorgeous boy in my 7th period about 5 times a week, 2 if I'm (un)lucky... I mean, what? Look. I'm innocent. No boy, or man shall ever change that! Then I enter my deeper thoughts: Brandon already has. Then a soft cry escapes my lips.

Dad, Rachel, and Andrew are meeting Cameron tonight. He's coming over to help me study with math, he's shown to be a really good friend. Oh, and we'll also be offering him dinner... he doesn't know that yet!

The sound of the doorbell echoed through the house and I sat down my study-book for Calculus, as well as the work pages; then I scurried down the stairs, ever so quickly to make it there before anyone else could. Dad was making dinner, and Rachel was setting the table. Andrew was too busy out in the backyard throwing the football with his pals Mark, and Gregory.

I open the front door to reveal a cheekily smiling, Cameron, with books in one hand and the other behind his back. I give him a puzzled expression as I turn my head and he only blushes. He then hands over 1 white rose. I gush over it, but then gulp. I'm NOT dating him. This ISN'T a date. He doesn't think that, does he? Then, he unexpectedly is able to read my expression, and giggles, "Relax, it's only to mess with you. We're only friends, and I just wanted to start the night off light and easy." "Oh, good," I chuckle, searching for more words, "Have you eaten? Dinner shall be prepared shortly. We're having lasagna and my dad's girlfriend was making salad." He accepts my sort of offer and we make our way to the living room to wait for the food to be ready, but my father rushes outside and he and my brother rush over to Brandon and start questioning and scolding him.

After the first seven questions, I stop them and remind them that I've only made a sweet friend. Cameron smiles lightly, and replies a soft, "Exactly." He stands up and asks to be excused to the restroom, and Andrew shows him the way.

They exchange a few whispers, but I don't find it anything to worry much over. Rachel calls for dinner and Dad and I make our way to the table. Rachel has taken my place. Dad usually sat at one side, I sat in the next, and Andrew opposite from me. Mom usually sat opposite from father... until things changed. It was more "predictable, and romantic". I believe in that, but Rachel doesn't. I now take the position opposite from my father, which I am okay with, but this was very rude of her.

After this babbling session, I realize that everyone is now digging in, and a chair from the front porch had been brought in to take place between Andrew and I, for Brandon. We make eye contact and he gives me a light smile. I notice that his face looks flushed, and I'm about to ask him what is wrong. He answers unusually quick as if he already knew what I was preparing to say, with this statement, "I am fine. Just a little tired," he looks over to Andrew who squints his eyes at him and continues, "Shall I come back another time to study?" I insist for him not to go many times.

After dinner, he and Andrew rush out to the back patio. Dad and I shrug and Rachel walks over to the large sofa and lies down. I feel out of place in my own home when dad walks over to her and rearranges himself and her feet so that he sits on the end of the sofa with her feet over-top. She grins widely, then shuts her eyes. My father turns on football and has shut out everything else.

I take this time to get to the bottom of what is happening by stepping outside the glass door, toward the patio. It seems that the two boys were having an intense conversation until then, when Andrew drops the football and they run toward me, and smile. "What's going on," I question with a raised brow. Cam looks away when Andrew speaks, "Why don't you tell my sister the truth, you idiotic geek." He expresses an angered face toward my brother, then looks at me, weakly. Then his soft voice speaks the most shocking words I've ever heard, "Brittney Renee Johnson, I think I like you... and you... you can't... I can't. And you're brother won't allow this. I understand that. I felt the need to tell you how I felt ever since I realized my feelings for you these past two weeks. But let me be real, I've had the hot's for you since our encounter. I'm sick of being considered to as only a friend by every girl I've met. I know we've only known each other for such a short time, but in these past weeks, we've told each other about almost our whole lives, and I feel like I've known you since birth. I've come to have immense feelings for you, Brittney; and I don't think I can take it. I have got to know... besides your fantasy crush, echhem, do you see me ever meaning more to you... or is this it?" He sighs.

I frown. "I'm so comfortable around you, you're like a brother to me," struggling to form a comfortable smile.

He rushes past me and exits through the front door making it thud loudly, and the couple on the couch awakes.

A/N: Hey! Happy 3rd chapter, enjoy. Like if you like, lol. Sorry it's been so long. I'd advise you not to read until I'm finished.. if I ever finish.. sorry again. If you don't like it, help me out with kind comments. Thanks!

P.S.- I would also like it to be implied that by this point Cameron knows how Brittney feels as well as her past with Brandon (even if you don't.)

Until next time.... ;)
