I stood there in a long silence, as tears streamed down my face. Did I just lose a great friend due to my arrogant choice of words? I mean, you could tell he put his heart into it, and I shoved his words right back into his mouth.
"He's not your type," Andrew sighs, regretfully, and after a long pause, he adds, "But that doesn't change that he is a good guy. And you? Well, you just let him go. Good luck getting your friend back." And, he brushes past me and jogs upstairs and then down the hall to his room.
I slowly manage to escape into my luxurious room, and plop down next to the math books near the edge, as well as my cell phone. I contemplate picking it up and trying to talk to Brandon, but I instead go for the math books and begin figuring out this complex equation. I sigh, and a light knock reaches my opened door, "May I come in," asks Rachel.
I nod and she cautiously enters to seat herself next to me, she gives me a weak smile, of which I return, and she begins speaking, "I was your age once too, ya know?" She giggles. "All the men used to be after me, the new girl at Jackson Carrier High," I give a surprised expression as she continues, "Ahh, yes. I also walked the very same halls you do today, minus the newly added ones," we both smile.. then comes an awkward silence. "But, I did the very same thing I overheard you doing tonight; Vince Rodgers. He had the position of your brother back in school, but I as a cheerleader, only viewed him as an unbiological brother, in which was not clear to him. I noticed he'd embarrassed himself when all I could do was ask him to leave. He did just that, and never showed his face around me again. I lost a good friend that day, but I also lost my happy touch with males, and females both. Many people didn't talk to me, look at me, or anything! They'd even hang with the nerds before me, if they weren't nerds themselves, but guess what, I survived and one day met a few friends. I stayed in that clique, until I met your father," she smiled.
I thanked her, but then she continued, "You're welcome, sweetheart, but don't lose this friend if you dont have to," she held my hands in her's tightly with a little shine of tears in her eyes, "He cares for you. He'll love you, friend, or girlfriend. Do what you girls do, but get him back, okay? Goodnight." She kisses my cheek and stands up. We exchange a long meaningful upbeat stare, and she exits, as she shuts my door gently.
I happen to notice that my eyes had been pouring for quite a little bit now, so I make my way to my restroom. I take a quick shower and wipe my face with the towel, then i wrap my hair inside of it. I grab another towel and put it around my body. I walk over to my dresser and get out some black silk shorts and a mint silky tee shirt top.
I walk to the bed and put my books away. Looks like I'll have to give Mrs. Brewer some reasonable explanation as to why i didnt finish my work. I then take a huff, and grab my phone.
