Secrets Revealed

"Damn it! Why does this keep happening to me!?" We heard the cat yell... wait... the cat yelled, that not normal.

"What's going on!?" Maia yelled. Eyes still fixed on the cat.

"Stupid cat. Now we have to erase their memories... " said a voice that sounded... familiar in a way... I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

"Okay, but what's going on!? Who are you!? Where are we!?" I yelled, extremely confused. And though I would like to look up and look at the people that were nice enough to take us in. I couldn't help but think I had seen that cat before.

"Oh yes I suppose we should introduce ourselves, wouldn't you agree Miss Honda?" 'Miss Honda... I can only think of one person that would refer to anyone like that....'

"Yes of course. Hi! I'm Tohru Honda, this is Yuki, and that... is Kyo." Maia and I both looked up as soon as we heard the names that came from her mouth.

"Did Storm put you up to this? This is all prank right?" I asked cracking up.

"Ary, I think they're serious... They're giving you weird looks..."

"Oh my gods you guys are legit, so uh... what's up with yo-" I was interrupted by a loud pop, similar to before, only this time it was a slightly lower sound.

All of a sudden I was meet with a flash of orange and then a boy with a bright red, almost orange hair was standing there... naked... and the smoke was starting to clear... I turned around instantly, although I don't think Maia did...

~Maia's P.O.V.~

My vision was filled with orange, I wasn't sure if that was from the smoke or the mop of orange hair that suddenly popped up in front of me. My eyes traveled down to see a toned body, with amazing abs.

"Ow!" I screeched as a sharp pain shot through my arm. "What was that for Ary?"

"Turn around, baka." Was the only response I got.

"Oh! Right."

"Kyo, put some clothes on, there are ladies present." We heard Shigure's voice say. And with that, we heard Kyo huff off.

"Okay, I'm very confused, he can turn into.... A cat....?" Ary asked, although, she actually sounded like she was confused.... What's going on with her?

"You see Miss...?" He looked at her puzzled.

"Fogarti, I'm Arriani Fogarti, and this is Maiya Fachima. My best friend." she responded

"Well, Miss Fogarti, would you like to speak somewhere more comfortable?"

"Sure, why not?" She responded and led us down the stairs.

"Ary, what's up with you?" I whispered. "You gave them our names in Japanese, and you acted like you didn't know about their curse."

"Just play along, I'll explain later." Was her response.

"Okay..." We were lead into a simple room, it appeared to be living room. A small table lay in the center.

"I'll make some tea. Please make yourselves comfortable."

"Why thank you miss Honda." I say playing along with Ary's act.

"Oh, please, just call me Tohru." She requested with a big smile on her face.

"Okay. Thank you Tohru."

"Alright, so I might as well explain the talking cat. But before I do please know that you cannot tell a soul this information." Yuki said as she left.

"Yes please do. We understand that this is on a need to know basis, and that the rest of the world doesn't need to know." Ary responded.

"Precisely. Although you have quite a weird way of putting it."

"Okay, so we have established that this is a big secret. But what is it?"

"I'm back!" Tohru called, walking back in with a tray with six cups.

"Miss Honda. There appear to be extra cups." Yuki spoke calmly with a shadow of a smirk on his face.

"Well I figured that Kyo would come down eventually, to talk with Arriani and Maiya, so I got us all cups..."

"Tohru, you're such a nice person." Ary said.

"Why thank you, but I just think that everyone deserves love."

"Oh my gods you're such a good egg!" I squealed, as Ary covered my mouth.

"Control thyself child." She whispered pulling me close.

"Fine." I mumble, leaning into her.

"Alright, Yuki, would you like to tell our guests about what they saw earlier?" Shigure cut in.

"Yes, thank you Shigure. Ladies, the only explanation for what you saw earlier is the truth." The mood in the room suddenly got very serious. "Our family is cursed with a curse in which twelve members are born able to turn into one of the twelve animals of the chinese zodiac. Kyo, is the thirteenth member, the cat. Every generation of zodics, there is a cat, who is treated as an outcast."

"But why is the cat an outcast, like, I know it's not one of the twelve animals, but why is there a cat anyways?" Ary questioned.

"Have you two ever heard the story of the zodiac?"

"We are unfamiliar with the tale. Please explain how that relates."

"Yuki, can I tell it?" Tohru asked.

"Of course, miss Honda."

"Long ago, God told all the animals he was throwing a banquet tomorrow, and not to be late." She started in a tone much heavier than her normal cheery voice. "The mischievous rat told his neighbor, the cat, that the banquet was the day after tomorrow. So, the next day, all the animals lined up for the banquet, and the rat rode there all the way on the cow's back. All the animals had fun, except for the cat, who was at home sleeping and dreaming for a banquet that would never come." As she finished, I felt tears coming to my eyes.

"That's-that's so sad..." I felt Ary hugging me closer.

"It really is."

"Okay, but how does that connect to the curse? Other than the zodiac and the cat."

"You see, Rat boy and I are always fighting, because, well, we're the cat and rat." A new voice from behind us explained. I could feel Ary turning around to see who it was, although I could tell it was Kyo.

"Who is "Rat boy."? I asked.

"That would be me." Yuki said raising his hand slightly.

"Oh... Okay."

"Well, that was intense." Shigure said breaking the silence that had temporarily fallen between us. "But you two girls are still sick. Tohru, will you show them back to your room please?"

"Of course, come on."

"We might just need to call Hatori." Yuki said as we started up the stairs.

"Hatori!" Ary's face lit up. Then it was my turn to tell her to calm down. "Who is this 'Hatori.' He sounds very important with how you speak of him." She corrected herself.
