The Lions Heart

Prolouge

A/N: Milo is number 4 as a cub, so when he's mentioned later in the story just imagine him larger with a tan mane.

     A girl scribbled in her notebook watching her father's work logs before sighing. Small forest animals surrounded the brunette being able to feel her sadness. A small lion cub jumped into her lap trying to cheer her up. "Don't worry guys. We'll find him, and when we do... We'll get our home back." She spoke petting the cub who whimpered. She and her father worked in technolical animal sanctuaries and environment improvement.  When her father disappeared a man, who didn't care about animals or the enviroment, took over her father's company.
     Looking down at her watch the girl gasped. "Hurry. Everyone. We have to go say goodbye to Sam and and Matt." She exclaimed letting some of the small animals hop in her bag as she put her notebook and laptop inside. The green eyed girl scooped the lion up into her arms and took off running to her guardians home. After her father disappeared, Sam Holt, the girls godfather took guardianship over her, helping her with anything. Sam never tried to replace the girls father, but instead became her second father figure.
     "Oli! You took forever!" Katie joked seeing the girl approach them. Oli stuck her tounge out at her best friend, putting the lion along with her backpack down, and ran into Sam's arms. "Be home and come home to us." She whispered to which she was squeezed before being released. Oli turned to her brother figure, tears pooling in her eyes. "You're my bubba. You better come home." Oli scolded poking Matt's making him smile and ruffle her hair before hugging her close.
     As the car drove off Oli finally yet her tears fall as she fell to her knees. Katie wrapped her up as the cub, Milo, sat with his head on her lap. Milo hated when Oli cried, so he was always there. A yellow bunny made it's way out of the bag and sat on Milo's head and used her paw to stroke her arm.
