'I don't believe in magic' the young boy said. The old man smiled, ' you will when you see her' - Atticus
"You know we don't have to watch these," I awkwardly laughed.
"Sit and enjoy," Sterling wrapped his arm around my shoulder so that I couldn't get up from my spot. I was thinking about doing that so they couldn't see my face when I was embarrassed. Let me just this. Tomato red.
"You can be a sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare!" It was Callie and me in the front seat of her car singing to Beyoncé. It was more like screaming but either way, we didn't care.
"You're making my ears bleed!" Ben yelled over the loud music.
"Don't make me hit you." Callie whipped around in her seat to glare at the boy holding the camera.
"Where are we even going?"
"To pick up Dylan." I was bouncing in my seat in excitement.
"Okay, maybe we shouldn't watch these," Luke replied.
"No, I can handle it," I reassured him.
"Get in loser, we're going bowling," Callie yelled out her window.
"Always nice to see you, Callie."
I recognized the voice even though I haven't heard it in a while. It became second nature to me to hear that voice almost every day last year. My body went rigid and I felt Sterling's hand on my back rubbing light circles.
"See, bowling is my game!" I screeched from the tv.
"Yeah, babe."
And just like that there I was kissing someone who at the time was important to me. I looked down at my hands trying to get what it felt like to be kissing him out of my brain. His lips soft, warm and always begging for me to kiss them which most of the time I did. I remembered how his tongue would dart out when we were alone. I remembered how his hands would lightly hold my body close to his like they were doing now. I remembered how my hands would get tangled in his hair.
"Alright, stop making out."
"If I wanted to make-out with Briar. I would do this."
I remembered how he dipped me that night. It made me giggle, smile, and fall in love with him. He was in a happy mood that night even though he got in an argument with his parents about his grades.
"Wow. You left him to move here?" Arabella made it sound like a dumb decision. I knew she had no idea who he was.
"Meet Dylan Evans. Totally hot but total douchebag," I dryly laughed.
"That was the guy who helped prank her," Luke explained to her.
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"So you have any stories to tell us?" Sterling cleared his throat.
"B, I'm sorry. I forgot that Callie sent me that," Luke came and sat beside me on the couch. He gave me an awkward one arm hug since Sterling still had his arm around me.
