xiv.

116 7 4

I want someone to hold me close,

just like he did,

and press warm kisses behind my ear,

like he did,

and hold my hand while I cry at funerals,

like he did,

and someone to watch read books while I lay on your lap and your fingers run through my hair,

like he and I did,

and to wake up to soft singing in the kitchen and watch your body sway like trees in spring.

I want to be the only one that makes you smile a certain way,

that hidden one you save just for me

because no else makes your heart feel the way it does

when I say I love you.

Someone to smile at me like I deserve the world, the stars and the universe as they clasp my fingers and say

love

you

just like he never did.
