Back Then

When I was younger
I used to wear dresses
Back when I was little
Back when I thought I was something
Back when I was a girl
Now I'm older
Now I'm just me
Now I am nothing
Now im....
I don't even know
Things have changed since I was young
Oh so many things
I am now depressed and anxious
Back then I was a happy and bubbly
I think I'm both
Back then I knew I was a girl
I do dangerous things now
Back then I was kept safe
I am now afraid that if I come out I'm be thrown out
Back then I felt like the world was protecting me from the dangers
I now fell almost unloved and unwanted
Back then it was all butterflies and rainbows
Everything was better back then
Back then we just kept quiet about the monsters in the closet.
